Peter Rakos of Gamasutra believes in the sound fundamentals of MS Excel as a graphics engine. Rakos wrote;  ”It is understood that Excel is an all-round office tool, but probably it is unknown that it has a bunch of features that makes Excel a high-class 3D graphics engine.”
He continues with some detailed explanations of the fundamentals and how-to’s of Excel’s capabilities. “Lol this is genius! 
Good work, although you may have too much time on your hands” was one of that posts’ comments.
