At last, the long downtime due to the server merge is finally done and I’d like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to New Chaos (November 14, 2008), Ragnarok’s latest merged-server.
New Chaos is the amalgamation of Baldur, Tyr and Freya. First, I’d like to apologize for the long downtime. As you may all know, the RO database is more than 5 years old and we have MILLIONS of accounts that need to be split. The entire process took longer than we expected. Again, we’re sorry to keep you guys waking. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who chipped in to make this monumental task a reality…
NEW CHAOS
First, thanks to Ryan Sacares and the RO team for leading the charge. Also, a million thank you goes out to our support team from Gravity and the engineers who flew in from Korea to supervise the merge. Thanks also goes to all the departments in Level Up who lent a hand; ICT, Product Dev (especially GM Destiny for giving us great ideas and doing superb QA), Product Management, Sales, Game Management, Customer Support, Creatives and of course to Marketing, our team.
Last but not least, is of course, the hundreds of players who helped us during the conceptualization of New Chaos, especially the guild leaders who made great suggestions which were now implemented – we owe you guys BIG TIME!
Now, the New Chaos is here, we’re encouraging everyone to go back to our roots – Ragnarok! I’m sure 9 out of 10 Pinoy MMO gamers started out killing porings and pRO is indeed memorable to most, if not all, of us. We here at the RO team have come up with themed “Balik Ragna” events and promos to make the visit to New Chaos as easy and smooth as possible.
BAKIT AKO BABALIK NG RAGNAROK?
This may be one of the questions that players always ask me. Let me tell you the reasons why:
- More people equals more fun – now that we’ve wiped all Agit ownership to neutral and deleted all the guilds, it’s time to forge new alliances and of course, old enemies will be there to stop us. Call or text all your friends, do bulletins in your friendster accounts, send tons of e-mail, plurk or twitter about it – there are a hundred ways for you to spread the word and gather your troops for the eventual conflict in New Chaos.
- Siege is more fun – Like I said above, a lot of people going for offense and defense will mean a whole new world of strategy. To help you with these, we’re even making it a bit tougher – the Emperium’s HP is now x10 (soon). Whoa! Time to get a better weapon to break the emp, eh? We’re currently reviewing the siege schedules too so that it will be easier for the students, weekend siege sounds nice, diba?
- It’s cheaper – Yep, we’ve slashed off the prices for subscription significantly. A week of pRO used to be P100, now it’s only P75 and a month now only costs P250. This means more savings for you guys, savings that can go to your character via the Item Mall
- EXP events – we hear you! We’re giving you EXP events yet again so you can catch up with your guildmates and prep for the new agit siege. This will be announced soon.
- Promos and Discounts – we know that you guys value your money. That’s why we make it a point to do regular promos and discounts for all the citizens of Midgard, not just New Chaos (we still take care of the Valkyrie and Valhalla peeps).
