As Waukeen would say; it’s another “exciting” week!
And all I can say is… what a week it was.
For starters, both our blogs got record-breaking comments and angst via our posts about the Ragnarok Dupe Item issue. Everything was supposed to be rolled back to June 1 since duping became rampant. But the priority now is to find a PERMANENT solution to the issue.
Here at LUG, we all LOVE Ragnarok… it’s the reason why we’re here. It’s a success and we aim to keep it that way. Of course, our biggest asset is the community and we want to serve them to the best of our ability.
This fiasco happened on Wednesday, June 13… it seemed that it was Friday the 13th if you ask me. We had long meetings with our Gravity support staff here (it’s good that they understand the “gravity” of the situation). We also read the comments and threads at the boards (which stressed me even further).
But it’s all in a day’s work, so to speak. It seems that LU Brand Managers love challenges… that’s why they have lots of it hehehe. Who say’s that work here is boring. Sigh.
And ragnaboards going down for emergency maintenance adds to the workload. I asked the guys to pull down the skins since it has something do with the mod powers going haywire. I don’t know why it is… don’t ask me. It just worked when we returned it back to default.
Anyways, the other games got their fair share of action. FlyFF succesfully launched its tie-up with Nescafe with the Nescafe 3-in-1 Perfect Mix quests. I really am excited about this project since non-gaming companies are now open to the possibility of marketing their brands through the gaming industry.
I also had to wrap up some updates with the LIVE 2007 site. Good thing jolly project officer Alex Mena was there to see to it that things moved smoothly. Also, a lot of new hires were introduced to me by the HR department. I’m really bad at names and I gotta go back there and have a chat with the newest members of the LU family (hint: one of them is a blogger). And speaking of members of our family, our ever-smiling Marketing Services Manager – Pat, had a sports injury… mababa kasi ang VIT. Now he’s in crutches but is expected to recover soon. Pagaling ka Bogart!
Meanwhile the Ragnarok World Championships semi-finals to determine the Philippine team is nearing completion. Due to some problems (arggg), the dates will have to be moved a bit. Wauks and GM Wintertsuki are on top of things.
I also had to help our events team procure 20 PCs for our event at Mall of Asia too. Finally, RF Brand Manager Keith and GM Gaea seek my help in some RF City Under Siege tournament rulings.
Finally, some chatting and yosi-breaks with the Perfect World team brought about renewed efforts for the Closed Beta. Now everyone who wants one, gets one.
As a stress reliever, Project Officer Alex lends me a DVD copy of Ong Bak and Tom Yoong Gum – 2 Thai martial arts movies that are sure (according to them) to make go “ohhh and ahhhh” over the fight scenes. I’m just waiting for my household help to bring in the Coke and it’s DVD time for me…. gtg
I think everyone in the office too deserves a mindless movie this weekend!
Happy Weekend!
