Me and the RF team already made clarifications on the game going Free-to-play this August 28.
I’d just like to share with you a nice post by Emerge at the RF Forums.

Good Day to everyone…
I am shop owner here in Paranaque… I have been reading lahat ng comments nila about RF going F2P. Actually ako kasama ako dun, pero sa ngayun, on the contrary, I noticed that everyone here are anticipating the Episode2.. why? because of the coming F2P of RF in August 28…Madami na daw silang babalik… Everyday, this has been the topic here, and im expecting that the coming Episode2 will once again dominate the world of MMORPG here in the Philippines.
If you could remember, the once failing internet cafe business was saved by the arrival of MMORPG especially Ragnarok Philippines by LevelUp games. No game has ever dominated pRO, there was always a comparison, mas cute ang graphics, mas maraming players, mas sikat, and so on and so on… then came RF Online… Most of the time, lahat ng naglalaro sa shop naming RF lang… Solid Graphics, better gameplay… yan ang feedback lagi dito… nakahanap na sila ng bagong game na kakaadikan… then nung ngkaron na ng bayad, lalo na’t mas mataas ang rates compared sa iba, most of them looked for another game, couple of them stayed… some have gone back playing pRO… since then, wala nang dominating game na nilalaro sa shop, halo halo na, sabog sabog, sa dami ba naman ng mga games na naglipana…
THEN, another company introduced the F2P system in MMORPG, actually I was hesitant to install it, ang pangit kasi ng graphics… (oops sori ,), syang lang effort ko sa paginstall, walang maglalaro nito, YUCK (oops sori ulit). Pero sige pagbigyan ang ahente, dami nilang mga abubot, poster at kung anu anong ka ekekan na bibigay sa amin eh, aba grasya din yun… To my SURPRISE, (totoo at alam nyo un), IT DOMINATED the shop, as in DOMINATED, taob lahat ng games., maski sa mga kabilang shops, para silang nagdive sa chipwar (hehehe). RAGASA… (no offense LU ha, pero ito talaga story dito sa shop namin), hmmm bakit kaya pumatok, Free dw kasi..simple as that, then I NOTICED, parang mas magastos ata ah, hmmm, pero patok pa din eh… di nila narerealize na mas magastos na nilalaro nila, ang swanget pa ng graphics… pero tuloy pa rin sila, kasi ang RF dw may bayad.. WAAAH… Pilit kong pinaparealize sa kanila na mas makakatipid sila sa RF mas maganda pa ang graphics at gameplay..
PERO, my bagong salta na namn, Tatluhan ang players… (ehem ehem) ang ganda ng graphics (pero no match pa din sa RF), at eto malupit, FREE din… so to cut the short story long, este long story short, KABOOM, nalusaw ang mga nglalaro ng mga @#$, syempre, etong bagong laro na to, maganda na graphics, Free pa, LUMIPAT sila… hmmmm
NGUNIT, datapwat, subalit, ang bida daw laging pabugbog sa una, sa huli, sya rin ang panalo. Nung dumating ang balita na F2P na RF, everone was excited, and I predict, with the coming of Episode 2, this is the game that will once again DOMINATE the world of MMORPG here in the Philippines.. Free parekoy, at ang graphics, unparalled…
Well, lets see na lang this AUG 28, I think this will be a WAR…

1) Nabugubug na ng husto ang competitor ng LU! sa paglabas ng Perfect World!
2) RF Ep2 going FREE 2 Play will be the knock-out punch.
3) As for the launch of RO2… they might offer themselves for sale to LU. Just wait and see.

OT Question:
If I downloaded the RF Episode 2 installer from the download page that’s around 2+ GB in size, do I have to have a RF installer for that or can it be stand-alone once Aug 28 comes? Just curious since alot have asked me to burn the installer of Episode 2 for them.

In line with your concern, please be advise that you have mistakenly converted your “Credits” for “Game time”, not for Wild Card Voting points.
Since this is a player error, once you already chose the desired top up value for your in-game account, then there is no possible way to revert it from there. Next time, please be very careful in choosing your top up value to avoid the same mistake again.
hindi binibili ang votes! @_@ nung nabasa ko yun nainis ako sobra.. halata wala siya masyado alam about RO! nakakainis siya pa yung naghandle sa CASE ko.. WALA DAW SA LOGS even if may SCREENSHOT.. Panu mabalik items ko yung naghandle ng case ko wla msydo alam sa RO! ang ginawa niya sa case ko.. resolved.. wala kc sa logs..

Will definitely try it out! Seasoned RF players, if you see a newbie asking for some alms “palimos po kuya/ate” That’ll definitely be me.
Parang alam ko yang F2P na yan na binabanggit nung shop owner, or at least one of the games that company is offering, kasi playing ako hehe. For me kasi, the beauty of F2P is that you get to familiarize yourself first with the game without having to spend so much, kasi d mo rin mamaximize game experience mo on the onset with having to learn and be adept with the controls, the environment, the culture etc. Then pag ok na you can proceed to spend. The thing is, f2p is not really free, like he said mas magastos pa usually. WoW is 600 pesos fixed per month, one week or less lang yun siguro sa game na d ko mabanggit-banggit hehe. But at least you have a more or less “free” look-see and know if you would want to invest your time and money in this game. Sadly for that company (and siguro good thing for LU hehe), not worth investing yung game na pinaglalaruan ko ngayon. Customer support pa lang palpak na, bloopers pa magpa-event, d p balanced ang game play (ep power anyone? hehe). Were it not for my friends there, I would have already made a hasty exit. But now that we are drifting farther and farther apart (in-game only, iba na mundo ko dun eh), I expect LU to offer a better alternative/s. Kaasar lang kayo, may PW na, eto pa RF! Wag nyo na dagdagan, d na ko matutulog nyan! Dami na backlog sa office hehe

p.s. how much yung CD installers?
ang hirap na nga pumili sa games ng LU ngayon eh T___T !!! Bakit kasi pinag sabay ang PW at RO2!!! Yung RF, may mga dati ng naglalaro kaya di na siguro sila mahirapan pumili… heheheheh!!!
Each internet cafe has this most played game thing. Probably, in your internet cafe the most played game is RF. In our shop pang 3rd po ang RF however, since the plan for episode 2 will be F2P I’ve been hearing a lot of gamers(suki) here that they are excited about it. I think the F2P business model for RF is a good move. Goodluck to the marketing team!

Araw-araw, dalawang klase ng sabong panlaba ang ginagamit ko; instant noodles ganoon na rin; istasyon ng TV ganoon…
Bakit ba ako maguguluhan? It doesn’t matter WTF I play. I’d rather have both soon — that RF and the other game it targets at.
I’ll never know which online game has the better amount of intelligence among its players… One thing’s for certain: huwag lang bumagsak sa sobrang lag ang game server at kulangin sa bandwidth (alam ninyong warak ang takbo ng mga ISP dito sa ‘Pinas).
OBTW, even if I’m downloading RF and reading the instruction manual right now, don’t diss the other (buggy, crappy, mindless, simple, stupid, unimaginative — go pick) game I love.

Pero mas ok kung isasabay nyo na sa Free to play, iisipin kasi nung mga bagong player late na sila sa mga old servers.
Suggestion ko lang po para mas maraming mahatak na bagong players. Sabay bilihin ng load kasi gusto nila maging top. xD
I was one of the many peeps who felt disgusted about the move of LU on RF going F2P. Honestly now that there are some details of the said plans I think I am more excited than before. Although I still have fears on the downsides of being F2P of this game. I guess I will have to find out and see for myself If the move is indeed a brilliant one or not. Frankly the subscription plan is better that before and would draw a lot of players. To tell you guys I have been playing since Feb 07 only and only FEW players log on specially during Chip Wars. I guess this bold move have drawn the attention of those players who temporarily laid dormant. Now I see old players logging on and anticipatign what lies ahead… I am not saying that I have completely turned my back on hating F2P since I have played one and the community sucks big time for anyone can just access the game. I can only hope that LU will patch things up on those matters that make F2P suck like LAG times, Fast action on filed tickets. I guess I will just have to see it for myself.
