Anyone who’s watching (or watched) the NBC hit TV series, “Heroes” raise their hands!
In a news article at Yahoo, the producers of Heroes have just announced that they recently inked a deal with Ubisoft to make a video game for the hot TV series which will be out sometime in 2008. The deal was set up by Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group, which previously worked with Ubisoft on “Peter Jackson’s King Kong.”
Hmmm… interesting. But will the TV show still be hot by 2008? Or is the game compelling enough for gamers or fans of the TV-series to even consider playing?

The producers of the show have, apparently, been considering the possibility of a video game for sometime now. “From Day 1 we’ve all been thinking about the game,” said “Heroes” co-executive producer Jesse Alexander, who first hinted about the game during an online podcast in May. “All along we’ve been writing some of our stories in ways they can tie into the eventual video game.”
To quote the report; “Instead of highlighting a specific character’s heroic journey, the game will focus on the entire ensemble cast. The game also is expected to play a crucial role in how the show’s writers explore cross-platform storytelling for future seasons.”
While there is a big possibility that Ubisoft will assign a lead writer for the game, the writers and producers of Heroes will be in close coordination during the entire production.
Only time will tell if this will be a success or a flop.
Best of luck to Ubisoft and Heroes on this project.
… can’t wait.
