Photography: Stormtroopers

Photobucket

Blog is backkkk! After some time to pause for the migration…

Apologies for not posting often due to that. Anyways, let’s get the ball rolling with these casual and wacky shots of my new Star Wars stormtrooper action figs which arrived via Ebay recently.

There are a lot of fun, wild photos of stormtroopers online; there’s one in Facebook and a couple in Flickr too here and here.

At any rate, do check out my photos after the break. Don’t forget to share…

Finished: Star Wars AT-AT and Diorama

Wohoooo!

At last, am finally done with this project. I started during the Christmas break and was finally able to do the snow/Hoth scene dio.

Check out more of the pics after the break. I promise to upload my Work-In-Progress (W.I.P.) photos and notes soon.

Japanese Custom Toy Maker Gets Jail Sentence

If you’re in Japan, DO NOT make custom toy action figures. The authorities will lock you up.

That’s what happened when Keiichi Itoh, 35, and Jun Fujita, 36 made a custom-mod figure of Kamen Rider W figure and sold it via Yahoo! Auctions last November. They sold the figure (photo above) for a nice sum of around USD 3,000.

The duo was arrested for copyright violations and await their final verdict.

Street Drifting. RC Style

Street Drifting is so cool.

What’s even more cool if these were done with 1/10 RC cars. Awesome. From Korea.

Last update, I was done with the Plaster of Paris pour and the thing’s all set and dry for the painting.

Let’s check out some build notes on that, shall we?

In Progress: Han Solo in Carbonite Update 3

Around 6 weeks into the project. Had to shelf it for some time due to work (uber-busy).

Now that the Christmas break’s here, I have more time for the mod.

The first update was about prepping the carbonite block and test-fitting the converted 12″ Han Solo vinyl kit. The second update was getting the hands and the torso ready before sealing it in. Now, the thing is ready for the “carbonite slush”.

ToyCon 2010

Photobucket

Spent the Saturday wandering around the 5th ToyCon 2010 show at the SM Megamall.

Had a couple of hauls. Mostly action figs.

Here’s my photo coverage of the event, for the toys first. Will post the cosplay pics in a separate article…

Lego Terminator

The classic Arnold Terminator model T-800, for me, is the coolest one. Almost indestructible and made of hard alloys, it’s a menacing piece of machinery.

But wouldn’t it be more cool if it’s entirely made up of Lego?

In Progress: Han Solo in Carbonite

Alright, it’s been around 3 weeks since I started this mod-build project. I’ve been working on it for 2 weekends out of the 3.

Here are some short updates about the build…

Pending Model Kit Projects

After my great online shopping spree of sci-fi kits and figures, I still have a lot of pending model kit projects. My last fully completed model kit was the AT-ST with the simple base.

Almost all of my pending kits are around 80% to 90% done. Most of them just have to be finally assembled or mounted on their corresponding dioramas. There’s been a LOT of stuff going on at work… so I had to shelf them for a bit.

Now that LIVE 2010 is done, I think I finally have time to go back to the hobby.
