Taking Your Blog or Website to the Next Level

Blogging is a great way to grow a business, promote your brand or product or share relevant news and information about your hobby. A lot of people blog for other reasons. I personally know some who actually do this for money. For me, don’t think about the money yet. If you dedicate enough time to your blog, slowly create original content, the money will come naturally.

After you’ve used free blog platforms such as Blogger or WordPress (which are hosted on their own sites) and have grown your user base a bit, you might consider investing in your own domain and finding the best web hosting for your new site.

Now, is a historical moment in human history – 20% of the entire digital spam on the planet Earth (around 40 BILLION messages a day) can be traced to one man. His name is Igor Gusev.

I’m currently using Google Chrome, the new browser from duh… Google. I’ve stopped using Mozilla and Micro$oft’s Internet Explorer for quite some time now. Google Chrome is “cleaner”, faster and has a better interface.

But do you know that there are some shortcuts to make your life easier if you’re a Chrome user?

Gmail Now Has Themes

When I opened up my Gmail, I got a welcome surprise. Gmail now offers themes! Woot!

You can choose from around 30 or so new themes. ”We wanted to go beyond simple color customization, so out of the 30 odd themes we’re launching today, there’s a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your inbox into a retro notepad, nature themes that change scenery over time, weather driven themes that can rain on your mailbox, and fun characters to keep you in good company,” mentions Gmail’s blog.

[ technology ] HD DVD is Dead!

Not a rumor, folks.

It seems that the format battle between Bluray and HD-DVD is finally over. And Blu-ray will be having the last laugh.

Reuters just reported that Toshiba has just announced that they are giving up the HD-DVD format for good. A source was quoted as saying; “We have entered the final stage of planning to make our exit from the next generation DVD business,” said the source, who asked not to be identified. He added that an official announcement could come as early as next week.

This might have come from the decision of Walmart not to put HD-DVD on its shelves and focus on Blu-ray instead.

This bit of news will certainly catch the ire of Xbox 360 players who bought their devices since an HD-DVD adapter is readily availble. Now my decision on which console to buy just got complicated! Egad!

[ technology ] MySpaceTV. Watch out Youtube!

Here’s another exciting reason and proof that Web 2.0 is shaping how we interact and connect.

Just recently, myspace launched myspacetv.com, its youtube inspired clone. Myspacetv is currently in beta. Here, myspacers can upload and share their videos to their network and to the world. Youtube, better watch out!

PC World also reviewed the service, saying that the service is “Most appealing to those seeking video uploads to their MySpace blog/profile without the need for other sites. Non-MySpacers are best served elsewhere, though.”.

Meanwhile, check out a myspacetv stupid/funny video about an accident involving a Nintendo Wii.
