I would have loved to make a detailed post/article on the subject matter.

But Lourd De Veyra managed to send the message across better. Watch his vid after the break.

Is Friendster Buying The Farm?

Friendster once dominated the Philippines social network scene BEFORE the advent of Facebook.

They were founded in 2002, the site currently has 50 million users. In 2009, Malaysian company MOL acquired the company for $40 Million. Last year, they tried to relaunch the site and added changes that mimicked the features and systems of Facebook. But in a recent development, Friendster management announced that on May 31, 2011 they will be deleting photos, blogs, comments and groups uploaded or created by its users. The company will, however, keep all accounts alive, along with user friends lists, games details and basic profile information.

Don’t Tell Your Prospective Customers to JUST Find You On Facebook

Just want to get this out of the way. And rant. Yes, rant.

The couple of weeks, I was watching some TV commercials and noticed that a lot of brands have started to adopt social media into their marketing mix. Now, that’s a GOOD thing. More often than not, these included having their own presence in Facebook (another good thing).

Create Your Own Daily Web Newspaper

Here’s a new, cool and interesting way to read the people you follow on Twitter.

>>> Create your own daily newspaper with paper.li as an example, here’s mine, The GM Tristan Daily

There are many cool features of this service. First, you get to see the top items of your Twitter feed formatted, newspaper-style. They’re also categorized. Media such as videos and photos are also grouped together for easy access. You can also choose how frequent to update it and it “self-promotes” the page via your Twitter. Is that awesome or what?!?

Facebook Share Button is Gone?

At first I thought that there was something wrong with my blog’s Facebook Share button. I tried to visit the code and reinstalled it, but still nothing happened.

Well, apparently after a bit of Googling, All Facebook Share Buttons for websites ARE GONE. Even Youtube doesn’t have it.

As of this writing, there is no comment nor official statement from Facebook. Will keep you guys posted.

The Last Advertising Agency On Earth

Thanks to colleague and fellow marketer, Jeff Paulino for sharing this great video on his Facebook page.

As a professional marketer, this video really opened up some doors for me, which I’d like to also share to my fellow marketing practitioners. The lessons learned from this video can mean the difference between an awesome campaign (which directly translates to measured results) and a mediocre one.

First, watch the video and then hit jump below for some of my personal notes.
