Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Alright. This is a DEMO game for the full-featured Gran Turismo 5 slated for next year, 2009.

But, boy oh boy! Wipe that drool off your cheek after watching the full trailer below. Gran Turismo 5 is a sight to behold! Bring this video back a couple of years (even just into the ’90′s) and you’d swear you were watching REAL CARS! Man, it’s THAT good!

Woot!

Gamer Cribs: Girard Garcia

When we go on coffee breaks here at Level Up, we always end up talking about gaming. We compare notes on the best setups, how to avoid 3RLs in Xbox, etc. etc.

This made me think; wouldn’t it be cool to feature and show my readers some of the actual gaming cribs of actual Pinoy gamers? Sweet! ‘Eureka blogging-moment’.

And as debut for “Gamer Cribs” (I thought of that name myself. Wapak!), I talked to Girard Garcia. Girard works for our creative department as senior copywriter and editor. He’s the guy that cranks up all those words in our flyers, websites and press releases. Girard or “Gi” is also an avid console gamer and he’ll show us his setup below.

GTA 4 Ready By April

Originally, Grand Theft Auto IV (for the Xbox 360 and PS 3) had a release date of October 2007. Rockstar slid through that deadline and has recently announced a new release date slated for April 29, 2008.

The feature at IGN revealed that “Grand Theft Auto IV will ship for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously, with planned Xbox 360-exclusive downloadable episodes somewhere down the line. A release date for those episodes, however, has yet to be revealed.”

And I can’t wait for this great game. Just check out the graphics below. Yet another reason for me to get an Xbox 360. Oh well, time to save that lunch money.

Assasin’s Creed is Best Action Adventure Game 2007

Assassin’s Creed, developed by French gamemaker UbiSoft came out as the Best Action Adventure game for 2007. This honor was bestowed by the prestigious game site, GameSpot.

But it faced off tough competition. Can you say God of War 2, Resident Evil 4, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass? Whew! But the people’s votes and the editors choice were the same. Assassin’s Creed came out on top.

The game takes place in 1191 AD. You play an elite Assassin sent to stop the hostilities by suppressing the powers on both the Crusader and Saracen sides. But as you carry out your missions, a conspiracy begins to unfold. You find yourself tangled up in a conflict that threatens not only the Holy Land, but the entire world.

Metal Gear Online

Want to have a reason to buy a PS3?

Here’s one – Metal Gear Online.

Kojima’s masterpiece is finally coming online via the PlayStation 3. IGN has put it bluntly; “you’ll be able to pretend to be Snake with a bunch of other Metal Gear nerds pretending to be Snake.” Hehehe.

Call it what you will, IGN. I’m excited about this thing. Having played all of the PS incarnations of Snake up against all his friends/clones/teachers/relatives, I think this is one title to look forward to.

Spot The Difference: GT5 and Real Life

Graphics is really blowing the mind away these days. They’re now so advanced, it’s hard to tell between what’s real and what’s virtual.

Do you remember my post about the new CG movie Beowulf?

Now you know what I’m talking about. Even skin tone and sweat details are reflected sharply.

When it comes to cars, the graphics for the PS3 game, Gran Turismo 5 is a real winner.

Can you spot the difference between a real photo and the game below?
