It’s the battle of the “3′s”.
It’s Woody and Buzz Lightyear vs. the Sony PlayStation 3. Hmmmm… maybe Andy got addicted to God of War 3 and forgot about his old toys. Now that’s a “3″ that really rocks.
Enjoy! (Source)

Whoa there, old one! The PS2 bested its younger brother, the PS3 in sales last month. According to a report from Yahoo Games Plugged In, the PS3 found itself beaten out of fifth place by the PS2.
“A 50% leap in Playstation 2 sales accounts for the surprising change, an increase likely prompted by the system’s price cut on April 1, a move which apparently electrified interest in the nine-year old platform.” the report stated.

Are you in the market for a PS3? I suggest you better wait for April if you want to save some moolah.
From the current price of $399 (around P20,000.00), the PS3 is expected to drop to $299 (around P15,000.00) by April of this year. This is according to leading industry analyst Micheal Pachter in recent news at gamedaily.com.
More details after the break.
You can’t put a good game down. The classic KING OF FIGHTING GAMES, Street Fighter, gets a well-deserved remix called Turbo Remix HD. The game doesn’t come in a box. The 6th incarnation of the Street Fighter series is exclusively available by download only to the PS3 and the Xbox 360 via the Playstation Network and the Xbox Live.

If you have a PS3 or an Xbox, you wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to download and keep a copy of this classic fighting game! Final Round…. fight!
Released a couple of weeks ago, Soul Calibur 4, for the PS3 and Xbox is making waves and is the first good fighting game in a while for the new, high definition consoles.
What’s even more interesting is the cast of characters (both old and new) to be included in the 4th installment of this weapon slugfest. The Star Wars characters – Yoda, Darth Vader and his apprentice are a welcome addition to the cast of fighters. Yoda, of course, is my favorite. His signature air attack moves (as seen in the movies) is faithfully replicated and combos are fun to do.

Rocksteady Games and Eidos have just announced the development of Batman Arkham Asylum for the PC. The game, which will also be released for the PS3 and the Xbox has a tentative 2009 launch date.
The initial screenshots for Arkham Asylum look promising. Note that the Joker has the Heath Ledger “look”. Meanhwile, the game runs on the Unreal Engine 3. 1Up has reported that it is played “from a third-person, over-the-shoulder view, with emphasis both on combat and detective work.”
Check out the screenies, girls…
This game was first shown back in E3 2006 when Square gave us a first-look at FF13. The team for this was, according to the developers, ”focused on building a brand-new game engine, called the White Engine. This engine was developed to integrate graphics rendering, physics, cinematics, sound, and special effects.”
Meanwhile, just a couple of days back, a new trailer for one of the hottest and most-anticipated titles for the PS3 was shown at E3 2008 at Los Angeles.
I’m certainly a Final Fantasy fan and this is one of THE reasons to get a Playstation 3…

Fellow geeks! E3 is currently ongoing (July 15 to 17) at Los Angeles convention center. And Gamespot just spilled the beans by doing a hands on for 2 levels of Capcom’s prized survival horror title – Resident Evil 5.
Gamespot reports that “Resident Evil 5 is looking like a wickedly good debut for the series on the current generation of consoles. The game appears to be building smartly on RE4′s winning revamp of the series. The addition of Sheva is interesting and the promise of online co-op play has us really excited. Though the gameplay may be pretty similar to that in the previous game, that’s hardly a fault. Resident Evil 5 is slated to ship on March 13, 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.”
It looks better on videos than on words…
Gamespot has just given Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots a perfect 10.
Before this, GTA 4 was also given a perfect score. Meanwhile, back to MGS4… Gamespot wrote; “Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the most technically stunning video game ever made. It’s also a fine example of storytelling prowess within its medium, combining gameplay and narrative so slickly and beautifully that it’s impossible to extricate one from the other.”
After several months of delay, MGS 4 was finally released for the PS3 jast June 12. At this point, the game already boosted sales of the PS3 in Japan by as much as 700%. Sony is surely happy with this. MGS4 has just given the console a new lease on life.
