This Christmas, there’s one movie that I’d like to watch on the Metro Manila Film Festival – the awesome remake of 1960′s action hit, Asiong Salonga. This new movie, in artistic black and white, stars E.R. Ejercito. Replacing his uncle, Joseph Estrada who played Asiong Salonga back in 1961. Judging from the trailer alone, this promises to be one hell of a pinoy action movie!
Those of you old enough will remember Evel Knievel, the greatest motorcycle stunt guy. Period.

Standing only 23.5 inches, the Guinness Book of World Records recently made it official. Filipino Junrey Balawing is the world’s shortest man. Junrey, a local of Sindangan township, Zamboanga Del Norte province recently celebrated his 18th birthday yesterday.
Here in the Philippines, we live daily and most probably get assaulted with stupid questions – the answers to which are obvious.

I’ve always been a zombie fan and been wanting to have a Filipino create and direct a world-class zombie film. Well, Zombadings (Patayin sa Shokot si Remington) is probably the closest we can get.
It’s a comedy, though, and is slated to be shown this year, 2011. Interesting concept and trailer. The cinematography is superb. I must say that I’m looking forward to watching it.

RPG Metanoia is the first Filipino full length CG movie. And it opens this month as Star Cinema’s official entry to the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival.
It centers around Nico, an MMORPG gamer and his adventures with his friends…

The Pinoy inmates from Cebu who performed the popular youtube Michael Jackon dances (with over 23M views) paid their respects with a new syncronized dance number. Hundreds of tourists and foreigners flocked to the prison to see it.

I’ve always toyed with the idea of conceptualizing and designing an all-Filipino MMORPG, one that shouts “truly Pinoy”. It’s in my “career wish list”, so to speak.
I guess there’s nothing wrong with daydreaming. But I know we’re not far from achieving it. Some of my friends have already designed Anito, the first true Filipino PC game. But when I say Pinoy MMORPG, it should have real Filipino elements, culture and flavor. One that we can call our very own.
Join me as we go on a brainstorming rampage on how we create the MMORPG that WE want to play.
