No To Mining In Palawan

Public service tiemz!

I just expressed my 100% support to stop mining in Palawan. Little do we know that mining poisons the forests of Palawan and is killing indigenous people and rare wildlife. This has to stop now.

Concerned citizens have launched a drive, No2MiningInPalawan in a bold move to gather 10 Million signatures to stop the mining.

Be heard and support the cause.

PDIC Starts Accepting Claims For Closed Banco Filipino

At long last, those with money in the closed bank, Banco Filipino (like me, darn it!!!) may start filing their claims at the PDIC (Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation).

Banco Filipino Woes

As you may have read in the news, Banco Filipino has closed (for the second time, darn it!). Now, what’s even more sad is that I’m a frickin’ depositor and me and my wife’s life saving are in that bank.

Good thing we managed to transfer most of the money to my wife’s other bank but there’s still cash on our account at Banco Filipino, dang! Anyways, we, like the thousands of BF depositors have to troop to the PDIC to get our money. Good thing it was insured. But yes, the hassle will be hell!

Ang Tunay Na Diwa ng EDSA

Today, we celebrate 25 years since a bloodless revolution toppled a dictatorship in EDSA.

We witnessed a new government, new faces, and some changes. But were these changes for the better? Some argue that nothing changed. The same corrupt system, the same “palakasan” woes plague our society. Only the time and the personalities changed and we’re still stuck in a rut.

Fire at J. Basa Street San Juan

I hate fires!

Back in 1993, our old home (also in San Juan) was burned to the ground. This year alone (around 4 months ago), I was witness to another fire in our city. But that one was relatively far from our place. This fire just today (at 6:30pm) was just around 6-7 houses from our place. It was terrifying.

My complete report after the break…

Off to Korea

Am now at the Coex Intercontinental in Seoul for a week-long business trip (told yah, no rest for the wicked… hehehe).

Anyways, the morning wasn’t off to a good start. I forgot the damn batteries of my digital camera and also left my Level Up jacket at the cab! It’s freezing like crazy here! Shiat!

Good thing our COO, Pet will bring me a spare jacket when he gets here later.

I’m here to do some meetings with some developers and also to look at the MMORPG and casual gaming environment and probably see what other developers and designers have to offer. Can’t divulge you the details of this yet. All I can tell you is that I’ll be back on November 10.

But don’t worry, I’ll be blogging from over here and post some interesting photos when I get the chance.

COEX is one of my favorite hotels. Here’s a shot of my room from my phone cam;

Gadgets: Inside GM Tristan’s Backpack

Okay… I love packing up for a trip. Unfortunately, I forgot my jacket when the entire Level Up management team went to Tagaytay for our corporate planning session. While they were enjoying the cool air, I was shivering like a wet dog.

Oh well, this post ain’t about jackets (and memory loss). I want to show you the essential gadgets and goodies that goes into my backpack when I go to a trip.

Ever wondered what actual gadgets or tools I use for work? and of course, to stay in touch online and to update this blog syempre! (and let’s NOT forget playing and gaming stuff)

Here’s the first photo:
