One of the most shocking “shares” on the Internet, especially on Facebook, was the rumored escape of Crocodiles due to Ondoy Floodwaters. These crocs were also spotted swimming in the floodwaters of Cainta.
Well, this just in. The croc farm in Rizal has confirmed that it might have lost at least 5.
More details coming up…

As a public service, I thought I’d collate all the online resources that you need to prepare and weather Pepeng, the Category 5 typhoon that’s making its way to the Philippines as of this writing.
First off would be EMERGENCY NUMBERS that you should remember in case you need help
164 – For PLDT, Smart, Talk and Text
8859239 to 47 – all others

The coming typhoon, (international name Parma) locally called Pepeng is upon our country. CCN calls it a Super Typhoon, a category 5… one of the strongest ever. “The storm was upgraded to a super typhoon Thursday as it churned towards the island nation with winds of 240 kph (150 mph). The storm was about 600 miles (965 km) southeast of Manila, the Philippines’ capital on Thursday afternoon” reports CNN
Pepeng comes at the heels of the devastation wrought by the record-breaking rainfall of typhoon Ondoy which left around 70% of Metro Manila inundated. With expected landfall by Friday or Saturday, I’d like to share with you what you can do to prepare.
I’m reposting below a list of ways for you to drop off donations in kind or send money to help the victims of Ondoy.
This is from the official advisory of ABS-CBN News. I hope this helps.
Meanwhile, you CAN use your mobile phone to donate too. You can donate up to P100 (you can do multiple text messages).
Just text RED <space> AMOUNT and then send to 2899 (Globe) or 4483 (Smart)
Typhoon Ondoy wrecked havoc to Luzon on the day of my birth. September 26, 2009. This was also supposed to be the day that me and my friends go out to Baseco, Tondo to throw a small party to 100 children there and distribute donations of cash and in-kind from pledges here and abroad.
I regret to say that this event is cancelled indefinitely. All the monetary donations and those in-kind are with me for safe-keeping.

I will never forget this date. And yes, it’s my birthday too.
On this day, September 26, 2009, typhoon Ondoy left the Metro and nearby areas in a state of calamity. Bringing about rainfall equal to a month’s worth in just 6 hours, the highest since 1967, Ondoy left many parts of Metro Manila under water. The major rivers overflowed. Hardest hit were the cities of Marikina, Pasig and Cainta.
Hundreds were stranded and scores died as the flood waters devoured entire homes, villages and ate cars like a hungry behemoth.
