Someone’s gonna lose a job. Recently, an ad in an Australian mall featured the photo above. Not only were the guys from Nokia lazy (they got a photo from istockphoto.com) but they failed to see that the phone wasn’t a Nokia. Uh oh!

Looking back, I just realized that I’ve been a loyal Nokia user all these years. (ahem-ahem, Nokia marketing peeps). I owned a total of 10 Nokia phones. Whew!
Here’s a short evolution of my personal phone purchases/acquisitions, how I started and what I have today (the N-77, which I plan to upgrade soon).
Without further ado…
You won’t believe that the movie above (in 720P HD) is shot ENTIRELY with a Nokia N8.
Give that phone (or maybe any other HD cam phone) to a professional and they can do wonders.
Makes me want to experiment with a couple of short films using my iPod 4th gen. Enjoy the video and don’t forget to share.

The new Nokia N8 (coming soon) has one of the best HD videos I’ve ever seen.
Check out the video above. You won’t believe that it was shot with a mobile phone. Specs of the Nokia N8 up next…
After reading a million posts about the iPhone (and even trying to find out if it could blend) and hearing claims about some crackpots that can unlock an iPhone here locally (the kind you can get from Greenhills), here’s a fresh alternative from Finland.
Introducing the new NOKIA N810. Engaget calls it “sexy” and “jaw dropping”.
Let’s examine the merchandise, shall we?

When I heard this over TV, I thought this recall was sparked by a report of certain Nokia owner (here in the Philippines) that her batteries suddenly overheated and almost burned her house. Well, although not entirely due to that bit of news, it has something to do with it.
In an official statement, leading cellphone maker Nokia announced that it will recall batteries of the BL-5C series since they “identified that in very rare cases the affected batteries could potentially experience over heating initiated by a short circuit while charging, causing the battery to dislodge. Nokia is working closely with relevant local authorities to investigate this situation.”

But not all BL-5C batteries are subject for recall. The advisory “applies only to the 46 million batteries manufactured by Matsushita between December 2005 and November 2006. There have been approximately 100 incidents of over heating reported globally. No serious injuries or property damage have been reported.”
Want to know what phone models are affected? (could be your phone) and how to go about replacing it?
