Completed: Darth Vader 12″ Vinyl Kit

Finally completed my Darth Vader 1/6 scale vinyl model kit. This took around 2 weeks to build, clean assemble and paint. The challenge with this project was that there were around 3 to 4 “variants” of black that was used for the kit; flat black, semi-gloss, and gloss.

Gundam Tieren Diorama Part 3 (Final Stages)

I suggest you check out Part 1 and Part 2 of this project before you go further. I already pre-built the Tieren for this project.

Anyways, just a short recap from the previous post. I was finished with doing the battle-damage for the fallen Gundam and so far, I’m quite satisfied with the “aging” and the results. I also finished the base of the diorama using a wood base, Styrofor and Plaster of Paris. After initial layers of cheapo acyrlic via hand-brush, it’s now time to glue and set the “turf” (grass and the terrain) and then paint it for the final effect.

Gundam Tieren Ground Type Part 1

I really had fun building the M1A1 Abrams modern battle tank. There were lessons there that I was excited to put into my next project. Techniques such as pre-shading and battle-damage were among the experiments that proved to be successful. I was hoping to apply those (and maybe improve upon it) on my next Gundam build.

After endless searching I finally found the perfect model (in Greenhills), an HG Gundam Tieren Ground Type mobile suit. This is the perfect mix of “ruggedness”, the Tieren doesn’t look like the average Gundam and I was pretty much excited to tackle it head on.
