Where Do Your Blog Visitors Come From?

I really love Google Analytics. It’s the blog and site metric webware that I use. It allows me to see at a glance my blog’s stats: how many visited, from where and what they read. If you have a blog, I suggest you try it too.

Now, a year into blogging, I’d like to show you guys where visitors to this site come from.

From my latest count, I have visitors from 126 countries. Whoa! That’s a lot. Thanks to some good ol-fashioned SEO and link baiting, I for one am happy with the results.

Let’s take a look…

The Art of Entrecard

I recently joined the growing craze among blogs today. It’s called Entrecard. Basically, their marketing position and premise is that your Entrecard is your “Internet business card.”

It’s really simple, effective and loads of fun. I like watching my credits grow while preying for a good site or blog to advertise gmtristan.com, of course.

But another thing that caught my fancy is the beauty and creative talent behind the 125X125 pixel sqaure logos, which I will call art. Fascinating how the different combinations of text, images and color go into each square – with the eventual goal of capturing your curiosity to eventually click it.

I Signed Up for PayPerPost

I already told you guys about how to Monetize your blog. And I thought I’d try another opportunity on the category of sponsored posts. I just recently signed up for payperpost and just got my blog approved.

PayPerPost helps you earn by writing reviews and opinions about products and services offered by advertisers. What’s good about this service is that the navigation and organization of the site is way better than some of their competition. Although the site is heavy on colors and graphics, I don’t mind the extra wait during the load time… it’s worth it.

With a good interface, this means that you always find opportunities that you are qualified for. No need to memorize your page ranks or other stats. PPP gives it to you automatically, all you have to do is write the post and submit it.

Monetizing Your Blog

I’d have to say that gmtristan.com has made a few bucks ever since I bought my URL. I can’t divulge the exact amount but it really made a big difference since I used this extra cash to purchase my “stuff” – gadgets and more games hehe. Throughout these past few months, I’ve tried a lot of ways to monetize the blog and make money online. A lot of them were referrals from my blogging friends like Wauks, Kiven, Selaplana, Diwa, Chino and Meng. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank these guys for all their help and support.

There were some hits and misses and I thought I’d share with you some of the lessons that I learned throughout this ordeal. It was a great year and this just goes to prove that experience is the best teacher.

The most important ingredient you need in this recipe to make money online are NUMBERS – readers/traffic translate to rankings. Better traffic and better rankings will increase your revenue significantly. You also have to write great and original content and don’t forget to optimize them for better exposure to search engines.

AGLOCO May Close Down

Well, the adage that “If it’s too good to be true, it’s probably a hoax” may apply to the sad fate that agloco seems to head into. Agloco is a network marketing style referral program that had good promise at the start. Now, due to lack of funds, it is highly likely that this start-up may bite the dust real soon.

I just received an e-mail from the Agloco team which reads:

We continue to believe in the AGLOCO concept, but our revenue is currently not sufficient to give Members a meaningful distribution. And though there are increases in membership, the resulting revenue is not enough to support operating costs. As a development team we are unable to continue to use our savings to fund the operations.
