Gamer Profile: Jovy Soriano

It’s been a while since I got submissions for Gamer Profile. One of the probable reasons could be that my contact form page has been busted for quite a long time now. Good thing I repaired it.

Now, time to feature the latest Pinoy gamer, Jovy Soriano. Jovy’s a fresh grad who’s really into MMORPGs and is also active in my Facebook page.

YNK CEO Interview on Rohan Philippines

Here’s a video of the interview of YNK CEO Jun Lee during his recent trip here to the Philippines.

Interview conducted by LU multimedia head Joey Alarilla. In the official post at the Level Up portal, Lee said he is bullish over the success of Rohan in the Philippines, since it is a truly hardcore online game that emphasizes PvP and many Filipinos are hardcore gamers.

For more info about Rohan, check out my Rohan posts and visit the official Rohan site, www.rohan.ph  for more details.

Interview with The Doctor

We all know him as The Doctor, a prolific writer of Game Magazine. He’s tried almost all hot MMORPGs out there. Name it, he’s probably tested it. But do you know that “The Doctor” A.K.A. mild-mannered Arjay Dela Cruz, native of Davao City is a full-fledged Perfect World loyalist?

In this special interview (when we were at the Davao Cyber Expo 2008 event), he shares the reason why he loves perfect World and offers sound advice for teams who would want to take their game to the next level – tournaments. And yes, what better class to mimic his monicker than a healer! Well done, The Doctor! You can heal or buff us anytime…

Take it away, The Doctor… and thanks for the privilege of the interview.

Gamer Babe: Luna

I first met Luna when I was writing about Anino Entertainment’s PC Game, Anito.

That seemed like an eternity ago.

I was working back then for Fast Forward magazine and PC World. Ever since, we’ve become good friends and bump on occasion on conferences, expos and shows. Luna is a very intelligent and and extremely ‘well read’ woman. She’s sweet, charming and witty. Her devotion to her work and to the industry is meticulous. I guess that’s why she’s perfect for her chosen field. But sometimes, as I wrote before, being a girl in a testosterone-laden industry is tough.

After some serious pleading, I finally succeed in getting her to agree to being featured as a GM T Gamer Babe. Luna’s currently into RF Online (which has gone FREE TO PLAY btw)

Thanks for the opportunity, Luna!

Interview with RF Brand Manager Keith Morales

Now that Episode 2 for RF Online Philippines is just around the corner (28 August). I thought it prudent to have a looong interview with RF Brand Manager Keith Morales. It’s also been a while since I had an interview on www.gmtristan.com and I’m actually also scheduled to scour the environs for a potential Gamer Babe soon (long overdue too).

Keith, a fellow closet-geek like me, is doing a good job leading the team despite a long overdue expansion/content from the developers (CCR of Korea). With story arc events, Vangaurds (assistant GMs) and a strong community, the game is still hot. Infusion of new content will be something big for the game – the first, serious sci-fi MMORPG in the country today.

gmtristan.com on Business World

Wow!

It’s a good week…

I was on TV yesterday and now this blog is a feature in Business World Online. Thanks to writer Jeffrey Valsino for doing a phone interview with me. I enjoyed every moment of it and the pleasure was all mine.

Jeffrey writes about the story of this blog (among others), entitled the “Pinoy Blogger” - how I started without any knowledge and how it has grown day-by-day. Thanks for the nice article, Jeffrey. I’d also like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU, my DEAR READERS for making every minute of gmtristan.com worthwhile and fun! I couldn’t have done it without you.

But there’s still a lot of goals to be made, more posts to be written and more sharing of thoughts between us friends.

Interview: SELaplana

I always admired “SELaplana” or Mr. Sustines Laplana. His blog on making money online is really doing well. I’ve been to his site and the traffic is good. No wonder, he really is a pioneer in the Philippine Blogosphere. He’s up there with the likes of Abe “Yuga” Olandres - who some call the “Father of Philippine” blogging.

Anyways, I thank selplana for reviewing my blog just recently. I wanted to interview him, not just to return the favor, but also to learn more about how he succeeded in blogging. He readily admits that his english is not that good. But his blog and his dedication to his craft (and the will to learn new things everyday) define the words “success” and “determination”. His story proves that anyone with a dream and the determination to realize that dream can become successful. I’m sure that those of you want to get serious in blogging will learn a lot…

Gamer Babe: Diwa F.

It’s been a long time since I featured a Gamer Babe

And this time, it’s someone special – Diwa Fernandez, a.k.a the “Poetess” graces gmtristan.com for the first time. Diwa (or “Diws” as I fondly call her) used to work for us (and under me) in Level Up. She’s a truly talented girl (creative, artistic and yes… pretty too). She loved (and still is) active in the community side of MMORPGs.

More about the Poetess after the jump!
