Guitar Praise: Guitar Hero with Jesus

I just wanted to share with you something I found for sale online; it’s Guitar Praise, a Christian rendition of Guitar Hero. It comes with a software (for Mac or PC) and a guitar (sold separately).

The concept for Guitar Praise is simple. Share good, wholesome, Christian music with your friends via a cool game that emulates Guitar Hero. Nothing wrong with that. The site that sells the game wrote; “Grab the guitar and play along with top Christian bands!  Shred those riffs or blast the bass…you add a unique sound to the solid Christian rock.”.

Game Night at Magnet Aug 1

Heeya peeps! Are yah allowed to drink? If you’re already legal, then head on over to Magnet for a wild night of Guitar Hero and Rock Band this Friday, August 1.

Who says they need bands?!?

Bands!?! We don’t need no stinkin’ bands! Bring the noise and your game to Magnet Café this Friday, August 1st. We’re breaking out the plastic axes for a full night of rhythm game goodness starting 9pm. Rock out with your friends or make a few at the bar and form a supergroup for Rockband. More of soloist? No problemo. Test your chops in head to head battle with Guitar Heroes II&III. The only rule you have to pay attention to is, like any good rock god worth their salt, you gotta down a couple drinks before you make it to the mic. The more belligerent the better. Magnet Café, Bonifacio High Street (behind Nike). Call 856-3400 to make reservations.

Oh and yeah, I might be there… so I’ll be saying y’all!

Guitar Hero Now Has Drums

That’s right!

The soon-to-be-released Guitar Hero: World Tour has added a drum set, mic and a brand new spanking design to their guitar as part of an entirely package and experience. Obviously in an effort to pounce on Rock Band, the guys at Guitar Hero are at it to make both gameplay and gadgets shine with innovation and clever ideas (like the Music Creator) that I hope won’t disappoint.

What’s new with the GH drums? One word – cymbals! Check it out…

Rica Peralejo Was Here

Well… she was in the office… yeba!

Why, you may ask?

She video-taped a portion for the ABS-CBN morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” last Thursday. I guess the show was was looking for good Guitar Hero players…. (check out one of the comments here) and found us (*snicker). Well, we didn’t just showed her just guitars but the entire band – Rock Band (for the Xbox 360).

Rica interviewed Level Up International Content Director Phil Cahiwat and then GameBoss Ben Colayco and myself invited her to jam with us. With Ben playing the drums, Phil on guitars, me on rythm guitar and Rica doing the vocals. We had a blast! (That’s Phil behind us “internalizing” for the interview)

Guitar Rising: Guitar Hero for REAL Guitars

Last weekend, me and my officemates showed someone who knows how to play a real guitar how to play Guitar Hero 3. Yes, there seems to be some sort of connection between skill in real life and with the “fake guitar” of the game. The dude then said, “It would be wonderful if this game could actually be used on a real guitar!”. Agree.

Which made me searching. True enough, I found Guitar Rising – which, according to their site is “a music video game where the player plays a real guitar as cued by the game’s visuals. Following rock music sequences and streaming notes, players play guitar melodies and rhythms. Beginner difficulty levels are designed for non-guitar players and hard difficulties will challenge experienced guitarists.”

Real guitars!!! Sweet!

A video is better than words. So, here goes:

Addicted to Guitar Hero 3

2 weeks ago, some of my officemates held a Guitar Hero 3 party. Project Officer Alex Mena brought his Xbox 360 and we “borrowed” the LCD projector from the conference room. Then some guys brought their Guitar Hero 3 guitars, we pumped up the volume and we rocked like hell ’til late in the evening.

I have to admit, it was my first time to play Guitar Hero and it was a blast. It was so fun and addicting that I had to find a way to play it at home. I still don’t have an Xbox 360 yet but I am saving for it and have plans to buy it this year.
