GM T Group Writing Project – Week 6 (Final Week)

And now for the last week of my Group Writing Project. For those of you who want to catch up, you can see the entries for the past weeks here. I’ll take this opportunity to list ALL the entries so far. Go ahead and use your free weekend time to read the great and cool entries. Thanks to all those who joined and submitted.

But all good things have to come to an end. It’s been 6 weeks now and it’s time reward the prize(s). Unfortunately, I’d love for everyone to win but there can only be one winner. As per the rules and mechanics, I will put several finalists in a poll. I’ll be posting that in a separate post.

The theme for the last week of the group writing project is

The most challenging thing(s) in an MMORPG: How I bested the game and myself

Gaming is Evil?

When I was in Bacolod last weekend, I made talks to around a couple of thousands college kids.

One of my slides had the picture below. This image is often what parents and teachers see about gaming. My job was to prove to them that  this was all a MISCONCEPTION.

Misconceptions occur when people are fed wrong or inadequate information. For example, we often judge food which is presented to us by our eyes first. But only when our other senses confirm – like our taste and smell, that it is indeed delicous, can we make final judgement on it.
