WTF?!? MS Excel is the Next 3D Graphics Game Engine?

Crysis may have set a new benchmark in terms of what the 3D capabilities of the modern-day computer are. Alone in the Dark is setting the pace for HD console gaming… but do you know that Microsoft Excel may be revolutionary when it comes 3D game engine platforms?

Peter Rakos of Gamasutra believes in the sound fundamentals of MS Excel as a graphics engine. Rakos wrote;  ”It is understood that Excel is an all-round office tool, but probably it is unknown that it has a bunch of features that makes Excel a high-class 3D graphics engine.”

He continues with some detailed explanations of the fundamentals and how-to’s of Excel’s capabilities. “Lol this is genius! :D Good work, although you may have too much time on your hands” was one of that posts’ comments.

Pinoy-made Video Games

What better way to celebrate Philippine Indepence Day (June 12) than to discuss the legacy of Filipinos when it comes video game design, right?

Well, in the forefront of the news are Anino Games (formerly Anino Entertainment) – best known for the game Anito (which I wrote about ages back when I was working for Fast Forward magazine) and Flipside – these talented guys (led by my good friend Gabby Dizon) dabbles in servicing international clients for casual games.
