Story Arc Events

I always loved making story-arc events. One of those that I especially liked was the old Amatsu and Kunlun storyline that I co-conceptualized together with Marc Reyes (GM Garamond). This way way back… Amatsu and Kunlun (Episode 6)was the patch right after Juno. This was one of the major marketing campaigns that I was tasked to do.

It was a great love triangle where Ran would eventually choose between Fei and Willow. Players can even text in their votes to see who of the two girls ends up with Ran.

The story was available as a mini-novel online and also in comic strips at the Manila Bulletin. It was also the first time that we got RL models for the actual characters.

But the part that I enjoyed working on was when we commissioned a stage play to be made. I think this is the FIRST play to be based on an MMORPG, if I’m not mistaken. Sayang, wasn’t able to film or document that. Sigh.

Anyways, I just started to sketch out a rough story outline for a future RO project. That sketch after the jump…

Chapter 1: A Visit From a Shield-Maiden
The land of Rune Midgard is at chaos. Scores of heroes have been slain. The casualties come from rampant attacks of monsters and also the rise in the current War of Emperium where guilds vie for control of various cities to participate in the legendary tournament of champions called “Lhayv”.

The King disappeared from the realms ten summers ago. The Vanguards, dedicated heroes mandated to uphold the law, can no longer control the citizenry. Unrest, poverty, illegal items and trade have ravaged the lands and provinces. Unscrupulous merchants became richer while the innocent suffer.

The Vanguards Jibrielle and Winter have taken it upon their shoulders to enact changes. Yet the population is unsatisfied. There is still a lot of work to do.

Recently, there has been a rise in the attacks from the forces of the underworld. Monsters have been plaguing key areas more frequently. One night, the Shield-Maiden Gunnr visits Jibrielle and Winter…

“Vanguards of Midgard, behold the scion of Odin!” Gunnr shrieked with authority. Her voice immediately commanding respect.

“In the night of the new moon, the goddess Hel will summon forth her creatures for a massive attack upon Midgard…

Bitin ba? I just ended there and stopped writing…

    Waaaa si Hel!! I remember her from the Sign Quest, siya yung red lady. Haha..

    Is this going to be an In-game Event?

    Sir, I do not know if you have noticed it, but, there seems to be a problem connecting to level up games and accessing the LUG website. Hope you can do something about it.

    Nope. Still not working. My friend who plays Ragna have also has the same problem. We’re both using BayanDSL. I guess somethings messed up between LU and Bayantel. I’ve already mentioned this to Bayantel through their customer service and they told me that, for today, they have received a lot of complains as to why they can’t connect to a number of LU games. I hope you can do something about it.

    Also, if it would help to know that, all games, websites including forums related to LU are totally inaccessible. As to the websites and forums, they just keep on loading…and loading…and loading…

    Sir kanina pa pong mga 5 pm hindi maka connect, mostly Bayantel Users po and ISP Bonanza, sabi po ni sir Wauks i fofollow up daw nya sa IT nyo dun pero wala nman po nangyari, hindi po kami nakapag Siege Kanina

    sir, me too.. i can’t connect to LU games like RF and PerfectWorld.. now, i can’t connect to LU sites also that’s why d ako mkapunta sa forums.. sabi nung MOD sa PW yesterday, baka daw sa ISP namin, so i called BELLTEL, and they said sa LU daw ung prob.. ngyon pati sites ng LU d ako mkaconnect so hindi ko masabi sa MODS/ADMINS ung sabi ng ISP namin.. pati iba ko kakilala na BELLTEL ang ISP gnun din prob.. sorry for bothering you GM T..

    Uhmm, excuse me boss, can you just please update us regarding our concerns. It’s been 12 hours since this problem persisted and we haven’t even heard anything from you guys, not even a simple, “we’ve already mentioned this to our IT Dept blah blah blah.” You do know that something’s wrong, right? *sigh*

    OT comments? When I was asked by GM T to “try again and tell me kung ok na,” I assumed it’s the GO signal to reply and post comments related to our concerns. What I’m wondering about is that there hasn’t been any admission, both from the ISPs and LUG, as to who’s fault is it.
