Available this October 14, the Sony PSP 3000 is THE talk of the blogosphere today. The main come-on is the brighter and more vibrant screen. Sony’s John Koller gives us an in-depth look at Sony’s new PSP-3000 via a video from Gamespot.
The old Sony PSP 2000 will stop production in September. The PSP 3000 will be available for $199 (around PHP10,000) with the Ratchet and Clank Size Matters bundle.

While inheriting the basic design and functionality of the current “slim and light” PSP, the image quality on the new LCD screen is dramatically enhanced, and a built-in microphone is added to meet the PSP users’ demand to enjoy games and content with voice input functionality without the use of a separate microphone.
Offering the highest-level contrast ratio, response time, and wider color gamut possible on a portable LCD screen, the new PSP is capable of displaying movies and photos in more natural and vibrant colors on its high resolution 4.3 inch wide screen. The new LCD screen adopts an anti-reflection technology, which enables users to see the screen more clearly in well-lit places, even when used outdoors. The built-in microphone will allow users to easily enjoy games that utilize a microphone, as well as Skype� and other communication tools. Through these additional and upgraded features, not only will the PSP user experience improve, but content creators also will have more flexibility to develop creative, entertainment content for the new PSP.
Further expanding PSP’s entertainment capabilities, the video-out port is also expanded to output gameplay in interlace format, which will allow new PSP users to enjoy games on non-progressive TVs by using separately sold cables. With the current “slim and light” PSP, games can be displayed on progressive TVs only.
In addition to the basic “Piano Black” color, the new PSP will also come in “Pearl White” and “Mystic Silver”*4 to meet variety of lifestyle and preference of all ages.

hey guys, nagtanong ako sa isang store sa SM kung pwede na daw ba ma-modify ang PSP 3000, and she said “yes” kasi may bumili daw sa kanya ng memory card for PSP 3000, simula pa daw May 6, 2009 nag start ma modify ang ganong model. Pero hindi lang daw niya alam kung saan at magkano ang magpa modify..

nag text kasi sakin ung store na binilhan ko ng psp 3000 sa SM CLARK. sabi nya na hacked na ang psp 3000 pwedi kana daw mag download ng games sa psp 3000 ng walang UMD and sabi nya 1500 daw ang software free games na un.. punta nga kami bkz nang friend para pa modify ung psp 3000 namin

mga repa!ive been to singapore last month, inquire aq kung meron ng download sa kanila, to le you all know nakapagdownload sila sa memory stick lng, naiwan ko kasi dto sa pinas ung psp3k q kaya ask ko sila kung makakapagdownload sila sa memory stick, and they did!

I have the same psp3000. It’s so stupid to think that you buy a gadget, and you even have difficulty starting it? Why would you buy it in the first place? I was told ( after the gadget was bought) don’t ever allow the battery to go low. Even our celphones get empty, right? So I had it checked. It worked at first, then the battery went low and next thing I discover, games gone. There’s an offered solution – Chicken somthing… said to work 100%. But guess what! I can’t even make it to 1st base… Verrrrrrrrrrry inconvenient.
So if you know how can this be remedied? Please let me know also. I need HELP!

mga kabayan bumili ako ng PSP 3004, tapos na hack ko sya dito sa kasamahan ko dito sa sau, ok nman sya nag function naman sya pag nagdownload ako ng game sa memery stick. ang disadvantage nya di mo pede i total shut down, kasi mawawala ang hack. pero pede mo ulit ihuck ang PSP 3004

guys comment ko lng po, panget nga po tlaga ang psp3000. kahit modified na ito. kc pag natangal battery nya or na shut down or nalowbat automatic mag hihide ang mga games. hnd ito mawawala. pero merong software na iniinstall pra lumabas ulet mga games. kaso hassle lng tlaga pag ikw gagawa kc bka mabitin k sa nilalaro mo pag nalowbat or something kc medyo mahirap ang pag activate nung software. pero ung mga expert n dun cguro madali n lng s knila. and hnd ka din pwd mag lagay ng mga pictures kc dun nkalagay s photo folder ung software kya hnd pwd. so u better stick to psp 2000 version. =)

i have psp 3004 model ung slim, i tried to upgrade ung firmware to 5.03 and they maybe one month ayaw na mag load young games. tapos nag upgrade na naman ako sa 5.2 firmware. pwede bang e downgrade uli yon sa 5.03, any advise?? happy new year to all!!!!!!!!!

nong una kc 5.01 yung firmware ko, wala pa akong alam non!!
system update sa taas ng settings kiniclick ko yun tpos naging 6.20

as of now there are some rumors, of new CFW for PSP 3000 w/ official firmware higher than 5.03 but the release date is not yet confirmed so we’l just have to wait til they are able to hacked the new psp 3000’s. PSP3000 with firm ware 5.03 are already hackable using CHICKHEN, and a sedna plugin is already available to fix those disappearing games when the psp ran out of batt or is turnd off.
