For me, I really believe that the real strength of an online game is not the graphics or the variations of gameplay. It’s the community that truly measures a game’s success. That’s why I’m really happy whenever there are community-generated events and activities such as Master Diwa’s group’s Search for Mr. and Ms. pRO Valkyrie 2008.

It reminded me of both the times I was doing community events even before I became GM Tristan and the things I started for the Filipino online gaming community. Props to Master Diwa and the denizens of Valkyrie for this initiative! Also, thanks for choosing me as one of the official judges for the event.

Mr. and Ms. pRO Valkyrie 2008

Mr. and Ms. pRO Valkyrie 2008 is a community-made event in search of role models for the Valkyrie server community. Think of it as a sort of beauty pageant but with more focus on attitude rather than physical looks. The application period was from February 1 to February 25 and the voting and judging period is about to begin, and will end on March 2.

According to (via a YM interview) one of the brains behind the event, Master Diwa; “Since the launch of Philippine Ragnarok Online’s FREE TO PLAY server, Valkyrie, it has been plagued with numerous bugs and glitches that have made the Valkyrie community frustrated and could not fully enjoy what the server has to offer.” Diwa said.

“and it quite saddened me and a close group of friends that Valkyrie people were getting frustrated so we came up with an event where we can find role models people who will inspire other V lkyrie players and make the community more vibrant” he added.

Not to worry. For all you Valkyrie and Valhalla players, the RO team is aware of the problem and we’re slowly seeing the results. Thanks for your time MD!
