Last Monday, July 30, Episode 2 for RF Online opened for the public as a beta in Omicron – RF’s test server. I already posted an article on how to download and install Episode 2 a while back.

This post is now about the many features of Episode 2 which you can experience in Omicron. I’m proud to finally say that after all the hard work with Keith and the RF team, we are finally seeing the fruits of our labor at long last!

EPISODE 2 GAME FEATURES – NEW

The major attribute of Episode 2 is that it is that there’s an ITEM MALL (I’ll post more details about this soon). Here’s the other stuff

1. MAPS

A new continent has been discovered on the planet Novus. Scientists are currently referring to it as “Elf”. Scouts have been sent to find out more about this area, and the photographs they submitted reveal these furtive and intriguing sceneries.

2. ITEMS – the microsite has a disclaimer that these are still in the testing stage and subject to change

Same weapons as Normal, but has additional abilities.
• Type A : Additional Ability
• Type B : Standard Ability Increase
• Type C : Additional Ability + Standard Ability Increase + Level Limit adjustment
 
Ancient Item
Item used by Novusians against Ancient Herodians.
• Uniform : Only race leader/guild master can wear the uniform.
• Race Leader Uniform : Only Race Leader can wear this armor
• Guild Master Uniform : Only guild master can wear this armor.
• Leon’s Weapon
 
Relic Item
Most common soul weapon that was used in the past. (characteristic : activation)
• Special Weapon : Weapon made for Combat, Class Skill will be activated.
• Native Weapon : Strong Damage + Force will activate depending on the additional option and probability.
 
Majesty item
Ages ago, during the war with the Herodians, Taurus Shirine Union’s predictors gave this treasures to human beings because they wanted human beings to be their allies. (Not developed yet)

Ohter Item Changes

1. [Expensive Race Armor/Weapon Vendor] Their item price has increased.
   • Armor/Weapon Crafting requires more components
   • Chance of crafting Intense Armor/Weapon has increased.
   • Loots have been removed from HQ Tool NPC’s selling list.
2. Cure Grenade is added
   • Can be purchased from Platform Sundry Shop (Porty NPC) (to be verified. Elan or Ether)
   • 30 or higher level grenade launcher can use it.
3. Excelsiar (not the piece) will not be dropped in Cauldron Volcano area anymore.
   • Excelsiar piece will be dropped as before.
   • Silver and Gold Catalyst price are greatly decreased.
4. Ancient [Leon’s Weapon items] item now has higher attack point.
   • It is higher than intense weapons in the same level.
   • Min and Max damage has greater gap.
5. Accretian’s elemental accessories no longer has detect ability
   • Normal accessories with detect option will remain the same.
6. Level 50 Ancient [Leon’s Weapon item] item is added.
   • A piece will be given when completing level 50 raid battle dungeons.
   • Combining the pieces, you can get it in certain percentage.

Additional Items
Type C Armor and Shields

• It is now possible to combine type C Armors and type C shields on Hero NPC.
• Requirement Materials for Combination:
  • 1 pc of Type C Purple Excelsiar
  • 99 pcs. of Purple Excelsiars
  • 50 pcs. of Red Stones
  • Armor ability 50 for each option (actual ability list still needs to be verified)
  • +1 to +5 Favor Talic upgraded Class B Armor/Shield (The more favor the item has, the higher probability of success)
• Armor Ability can randomly be acquired from the ability box. Ability box can be acquired from:
  • Can be acquired from Turncoats in the Sette Desert.
  • Can be acquired from monsters in Cauldron Volcano Area.
  • Can be acquired from monsters in Elan Area.
  • Can be acquired from pit bosses.
• Red Stones can be acquired through ore processing (+3 ores)

3. NEW MONSTERS

The microsite says that “Scouts have reported sightings of a terrible new menace in Elan Plateau. No details have been released as of yet but we have intercepted a message with an image from an Accretian scout just before it was obliterated by the said monster.” Unfortunately, there are no stats yet about the new monsters. You’ll have to log in the game to find out. But don’t worry, as soon as gmtristan.com has more info, you’ll all know too!

What now?

Well… I can’t wait until I get my hands on the Catalog and Item List of stuff in the Item Mall. Hopefully, we will give test Galactic Credits (the game cash used to purchase stuff) to all players in Omicron VERY SOON. Once I get the final list of items and what they do, I’ll ask the RF team to update the site and I’ll also post it here.

I would love to hear your comments, thoughts or suggestions on how we can make Episode 2 better. Community feedback is essential. Especially in the area of pricing and rarity of the items. We would love to hear from you. Just comment below and I’ll make sure that the RF team hears about this.
