Rejected Star Wars Toys

December 15, 2007 · Filed Under General, Musings

We here at Level Up love our toys and action figures. This is evidenced by the first Level Up Toy Fair which I organized for all our employees last July.

And speaking about toys, there is always a need for designers to be innovative and find novel ways to get the consumer (especially toy lovers and collectors) to buy. A product line like Star Wars figures needs no more than a “rare” insert in the set to keep things going.

But it seems that some of Lucas’ boys got carried away with some ideas that didn’t hit the store shelves (for reasons you’ll see below).

Let’s start the ball rolling with this playset:

What better way to have fun than to “relive the Lars homestead massacre!”, eh? The marketing people there must be smoking something we haven’t tried yet, sheesh…

And yup, “burning corpses are sold separately”… you’ll see them after the jump

Here are more Star Wars toys that didn’t make the cut;

As promised, here’s something to go with the Lars massacre playset, Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen… smoldering in all their glory!

Or how about this cuddly Dead Ewok?

And you’ll surely want to add this gem to your Star Wars collection…

Finally, to top it all off, here’s the mother of all action figures…

What do you mean it’s empty?!?!?!?!

IT’S NOT EMPTY!!! IT’S THE FORCE!!!

    Funny, because “Disturbance at the Lars Homestead” is now an ACTUAL playset…comes with Beru, Owen, a Sandtrooper, and their little hut…so:

    “Relive the last few moments of Luke’s foster parents’ Lives!”

    Whether they were hog-tied and burned alive, or shot and then doused in Gasoline, its up to your imagination!
