Realistic Wii Guns

Ever since I held my first videogame gun zapper – that was in the SNES NES game, Duck Hunt, I always thought they designed those things to be “toy-like” for a reason. Well, one reason could be that it was aimed, I meant “targeted” at kids at that time.

Guess what? The kids who used to play those games have grown up. While the “stock” gun zappers you’re likely to find with consoles still look like it came out of Toy Kingdom or Toys R Us, these bunch of new Wii Guns won’t dare to be called toys.

Check out the guns below spotted by CNET at the CES 2008 show.

These guns are from CTA Digital. They also produce other funky gaming accessories and other cool products.

CNET writes:

From the pistol-like Magnum Gun to the submachinegun-like Buzz Gun, CTA showed off no less than six Zapper-like Wii gun attachments. The Shot Gun for Wii stood out among them, a hulking, heavy pump-action shotgun accessory. The Shot Gun was a mock-up, and hopefully the final version of the gun will be lighter than the bulky model CTA displayed.

Kewl!

If they become too realistic, they’ll have problems getting into the Philippines. We have laws against realistic toy guns.

Oooooh! Those Wiishooters look awesome! I wonder how they work? Do you have to slot the Wii remote inside them or do they operate as Wii remotes themselves?

Speaking of which, GM T, you should come over to the house to try our Wii! We got to score one from an uncle and aunt of mine. It’s awesome! :D
