[ OT ] Pinoy Excuse Letters

I used to pester my mom for excuse letters when I was still at school. So far, she wrote straight to the point and my teachers would well, excuse me from such things as the common cold, fever and even intestinal flu.

Just recently, I got this collection from an e-mail in my high school e-groups about funny (and what seems like actual) Filipino excuse letters. I just had to share it with you.

These letters were supposedly compiled from various schools all across the country (including the original spelling). Commentaries are also from the original and not mine. Let’s check out the first entry, shall we?

My son is under a doctors care and should not take P.E. today. Please execute him.

Tsk. Tsk. Poor son…

  • Please excuse Lisa for being absent. She was sick and I had her shot. (Pag nag-absent pala papatayin ka…Baka may rabies…)
  • Dear School : Please ekscuse John being absent on Jan. 28, 29, 30, 31,32, and also 33. ( Aba grabe to. Nasa kalendaryo pa ang birthday ko kung ganon. Hahaha!)
  • Please excuse Gloria from Jim today. She is administrating. (Ano daw???? )
  • Please excuse Roland from P.E. for a few days. Yesterday he fell out of a tree and misplaced his hip. (Hanapin natin!)
  • John has been absent because he had two teeth taken out of his face. (Bwehehehe.. -. la ako masabi… Bwahahaha! Ganito kasi yan. Kinagat siya ni Lola sa noo sa gigil. Tapos nabali yung ngipin ng pustiso niya.Hahaha! !!)
  • Megan could not come to school today because she has been bothered by very close veins. (Buti pa veins niya. Close sila. Hahahaha!!!)
  • Please excuse Ray Friday from school. He has very loose vowels. (Aah…..eh. -…i…. .-ow….u. .-..)
  • Irving was absent yesterday because he missed his bust. (So transsexual pala si Irving ?)
  • Sally wont be in school a week from Friday. We have to attend her funeral. ( Ala e! Mabuhay ang Patay!! Mayroong Himala!!!)
  • Please excuse Jason for being absent yesterday. He had a cold and could not breed well. (Stud service ba yung school nya? baka gremlins siya.)
  • Gloria was absent yesterday as she was having a gangover. (Ay grabe! Iba na talaga ang mga kabataan ngayon. Hahaha!)
  • Maryann was absent December 11-16, because she had a fever, sore throat,headache and upset stomach. Her sister was also sick, fever and sore throat,her brother had a low grade fever and ached all over. I wasnt the best either, sore throat and fever. There must be something going around, her father even got hot last night. (Hot si Papa…)
  • Please excuse Jennifer for missing school yesterday. We forgot to get the Sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it Monday, we thought it was Sunday. (Winner to!!!!!!!!!! Ang galing!!!! Puwede rin kaya sa office ito?)

    Ahahaha! One of the funnest part of attending school is thinking up reasons to miss your classes. I remember back in high school, when I was absent for two days, I told my teacher it was because I had lycanthropy. Silly teacher, she actually bought it…

    Uhm…somethings wrong actually GMTristan I remember “reading” these excuse letters from my English 1 class during my first year of college, our professor brought the newspaper(Inquirer or MB) and let us photocopy it.

    From what I remember this is suppose to be an American excuse letters, the writer of the column said that Americans can also make mistakes even with their own language so by that these excuse letter came up.

    Notice some names Irving & Sally, and reasons like Sunday paper off the porch too American-ish to be Pinoy. :P
