Perfect World will patch our latest update, Moon Valley, this Friday, October 24, 2008. Moon Valley has content mostly for high-level players such as a new map and boss monsters among others.

The Moon Valley patch adds another stunningly beautiful map to the lands of Pangu, the fantasy land of Perfect World. Moon Valley is filled with new adventures and only the very skilled and most experienced parties can brave the challenges that lie within. “Moon Valley adds another dimension to the gameplay of Perfect World as it opens up more challenges to higher-level players,” said Keith Morales, Brand Manager of Perfect World.

“Players will find all new quests and bosses, the likes of which have never been seen before,” added Morales.

In Moon Valley, there are bosses that reduce players’ attack strength or even gold, there’s one boss that gets stronger as more players are killed, and another one that becomes almost unstoppable once it goes on a rampage!  Players will now be hard pressed to try and accomplish all the new tasks and take on the pantheon of killer bosses!  This is certain to keep them entertained for a very long time. 

Of course, players will not stand a chance against the new bosses without a whole slew of new items that have been made available to aid them. From weapons to accessories and even new fashion items, players, can customize to their hearts content and see how much stronger their characters can get!

Topping off the exciting list of updates are new item mall exclusives!  The Random Gift Box may yield some really wonderful items like the magnificent Lion Mount which is available nowhere else!

Moon Valley Background Story

The origins of Moon Valley lay shrouded in mystery, but ancient records reveal that it all began with the war between the gods; the very war that tore the land itself asunder!  When the gods realized what it was that they had wrought, a truce was formed.  As their means to make amends, this treaty would put aside their differences and help heal the lands that they had destroyed.  It was then that a new land was founded, one that exists between the realms of humans and the heavens… Perfect World.

Over time, Perfect World saw many changes; one of them was a decrease in faith with the gods themselves.  This decline diminished the power and influence of the gods, and to prevent any further decay, they decided to enter a sacred land: “The Accord of Enlightenment” — where they would recover and regain the faith of their worshippers. However in their absence, they would need to appoint a mortal to serve as their avatar.  Each mortal that was appointed by a deity would be granted immortality as well as other heavenly gifts.  These traits led them to be called the “Divine Children”.  

These Divine Children were tasked to secure the return of the gods when the Accord of Enlightenment completes. But as the Soulless began their rampage on the lands of Pangu, the Humans, Wingkin and Beastkin soon forgot about these avatars. So the Divine Children retreated to four sacred lands where they would lie in wait for the gods’ arrival. 

In time, a person came forward and identified himself as one of these legendary avatars.  He informed the denizens of Perfect World that. something has gone wrong with one of the sacred lands which threatens the gods’ return. Should they fail to solve this crisis,  the lands will once again face turmoil bereft of the support and guidance of the gods.  So the path to one of the sacred lands was opened… the way to Moon Valley.
