What are you going to do for the coming Holy Week (next week)? Work and school most likely ends on Wednesday (Mar 19) and the entire Metro Manila crowd will probably head on to Boracay or nearby beaches.
But why not have a gaming gig for Holy Week? It’s about time you spend quality time with friends or relatives. Sure, the beach is fun but you might think about some of the ideas that I’m about to throw in.

Who knows, you might thank me for it.
Let’s hit that jump click now, amigo!
Ideas for a Holy Week Gaming Gig
- MMORPG madness – this is simple. You can either find an Internet cafe and reserve it for an entire day with your friends. Still don’t have that boss card or rare item? Now is the time for pure farming. Remember, I already told you some power-leveling tips, ok? Use them wisely
- Retro Gaming – using either the cafe or at your house, you can go play some of the old classics like Starcraft or Red Alert. It’s fairly easy to set-up a LAN party at your place. All you need is switch or a hub.
- Console Madness – again, how about an entire day filled with Tekken tournaments, WWE or even NBA or Burnout? If you got a next gen console, Guitar Hero will rock your world. Just make sure you got pizza, chips and Mountain Dew stocked just like a hardcore
nerdgamer. - Board game or Tabletop RPG weekend – me and my gaming buddies used to this every year. Sadly, most of them are in the states now or are busy with their own families and work. But this is great! Get your old board games and play like crazy. Classic games like Monopoly, Clue or even the new ones like Apples to Apples and even Settlers of Catan or Cranium is a blast. But if you can find a DM for an honest-to-goodness dungeon crawl via AD&D, you’re in heaven.
I hope you and your gamer friends have fun. But don’t forget the real reason for the holiday okay? Have a blessed Holy Week.
Stay safe.
