It seems that not even one of the most anticipated games is spared from bugs, billing and server problems.
Flagship Studios, developers of Hellgate: London have recently released an official statement apologizing for bugs and hiccups.
They itemized the following critical items:
- Resolving any remaining problems related to billing and subscriptions.
- Fixing two known bugs which cause players to sometimes lose items (one related to dual focus/dual melee, and one related to loading issues).
- Making improvements to memory usage in order to reduce “Memory Exhausted” crashes.
- Fixing a known issue with the user interface which causes the application to lock up intermittently.* An issue which occasionally prevents characters from being able to load or switch instances.
- General chat interface improvements. (Many improvements are in the works).
- Random disconnects and lag.
- Allowing higher resolution textures and models for other players.
- Various known problems with being able to continue interrupted side quests.
- Remnant quest items not getting destroyed and “clogging” up inventory.
- Continued problems with saving / loading Engineer Drone items.
- Invisible party members.
- The nanoforge not correctly improving rare and better armors.
- Getting stuck on collision.

Meanwhile, the Asian servers of Hellgate: London has reportedly done a massive roll-back last November 12 due to the implementation of “Patch 0″.

yeah, the game crashed on me twice when i was doing stuff with my inventory. and… it’s not really mmorpg, it’s kinda like a parallel worlds. one player has his own world, and i have my own world. it’s either you party with people, or you do the job alone.
at least it aint like one game in beta. when it crashes, it takes your entire OS with it.
OT.. @_@ question po.. may plan kc ako bumili ng mga 900m worth n equipment sa pRO tyr server.. magpriprintscreen ako dis time.. paano kpg dupe un? at paano kapag sinabi n naman ng LU! n wla sa logs? waa!!
I think the crashes most people are experiencing are hardware related. I was in the beta and brought several people into the game with me, including my girlfriend. While I am not goign to try and excuse the game play issues, I mean, there are a LOT of bugs with that, I will say that the game stability has been great. Out of the people I brought in, 2 had problems. One was getting memory errors, and it turned out to be a problem with his memory(had to change the voltage in the bios). The other was crashing out and it would up being a vid card problem. I myself have left the game running for extended periods of time(read: went to bed and got up in the morning, then went to work and it was still up when I got home), and played for extended periods of time, of course… And I haven’t seen this problem. I am an IT professional, and of course I do the support for all my friends. So if it starts happening I will be the one to troubleshoot it. And if I find a crash that occurs and is not caused by hardware, I will post the cause and solution somewhere.
Uh, why exactly is there a screenshot from the game Prey attached to this story?
It means….Play Prey instead of HGL.lol
LOL!!!!! james, i need IT support too!
Ate issai, have you bought the 8800GT for Hellgate yet?
I hate hell gate!… ang mahal ng CD nya… its worth £27 here sa London.. dpat mura xa d2..
nope di pa me bumili. i bought guinea pigs instead. hahaha!!! for the same price as the 8800GT. LOL!! break muna ako sa gaming… wala na ko time para sa sarili ko.
Lol.. Ako undecided on 8800GT or ATI’s new 3800 series…. mura kasi T_T
