After a long and tough week at work, it’s time to relax and “de-stress” with my model kit hobby. Last Sunday, it was back to doing some work for the Gundam Tieren Diorama.
Last weekend, I headed over to Jolie’s, an office supply store that caters mostly to architectural college students. Jolie’s is located in Espana Ave, near UST. They have tons of stuff for dioramas (the one for Archi students, that is. But heck, they will do for Gundam and sci-fi. Just remember the scale of your kit) I got some 1:100 trees, some bushes, different colored turf and some rocks/pebbles.
Lemme show you…

The trees above are 1:100 set up against the actual figures from the kit. They cost P15.00 each.

Each packet of “turf” costs P20.00. The bushes are around P45

The rocks (above) cost P20.00 for a small packet (each)
Since the “wrecked gundam” is already dry. I finally fix it to the diorama using Plaster of Paris blended to a clay-like consistency.

Once that dried, I used cheap acrylic based paints (the ones below are water-based) and paint the diorama base with a large brush. I used Green and Burnt Sienna.

Next stop would be applying the turf and putting in the terrain and also doing fine, detail work on the rocks, shruberry and terrain. Woot! Can’t wait!
I’ll be uploading the photos on those soon.
