Oh yeah, baby!

Like most people who don’t have plans, I go with the multitudes for some last minute Christmas gift shopping. I did it with the Queen of Midgard (aka, my wife) at Greenhills yesterday. Time to put stress levels to the test as we go on an adventure to find the best buys, scout for parking slots and try to remember what gifts to buy.

Ready? Join me as I go to Greenhills and then to a detour to SM Centerpoint to get all the Christmas shopping done…

The adventures of GM T’s shopping after the break…

4:30 PM – GREENHILLS – Greenhills is just a stone’s throw away from home and I get dragged from sleep by my wife. After a quick shower, an episode of Japanorama, we were off to Greenhills. Our first tactic is to avoid the parking rush by finding spots just outside the mall area. Yeah, the parking areas inside are full to the brim. Bitch.

Good thing I spot one as I turn the curb from Ortigas. After gathering all gear (communications and documentation gear… i.e. digital cam and cellphone), off we went.

First stop was to go to Virra Mall for some techie paraphernalia. I get some blank DVDs and cases at the third floor.

We also go shopping around for a gift for my son. I got him a pair of new headphones for his iPod. I hope he does not read this post since it’s a surprise.

Of course, shopping is really tiring and you get hungry pretty fast. Since my wife loves Belgian fries, we stop for a bite. She has fries and chicken wings and I go for the tasty slammers! Yum.

That’s my wife getting the burgers for the King. Hehehe.

Before we leave, I grab a couple of tools (a screwdriver set) from a local china-bazaar and then my wife wanted to find a nice watch for our son. Too bad, we didn’t find it here. We have to head on over to SM Centerpoint. Shiat! My feet are killing me.

9:00PM – SM Centerpoint.

Alright. Got the watch. Whew! That’s taken care of. Then I remember to buy some shoes for myself. Good thing I find a nice bargain for these pair of Fila cross-trainers. Sweet! Check it out.

We finish shopping at around 10:30 pm (SM is open until midnight just for the last-minute rush). Thank you, Henry Sy!

And speaking of Mr. Sy and SM, shoes have the power to mesmerize any woman. My wife has very low willpower versus that. Sigh.

I give in to the powers of the Dark Side and buy her a couple of pairs (don’t women have ENOUGH???) and also a bag.

My wife and I head back home and go through the painstaking task of wrapping all the stuff. Sheesh. No rest for the wicked.

I hope you guys finished your shopping already and it’s not as stressed as mine. But I really love these last-minute rushes. It’s fun!
