[ gadgets ] Toshiba Regza 37″
I’m in the market for a new TV set. And just yesterday, I got my new Toshiba Regza 37″ LCD TV. Sweet! It’s my Christmas gift to my family. When it finally came to the decision, it was a Japan vs. Korea thing (see below).
I was supposed to get the Samsung 37″ for P75,000.00 (everyone’s getting that) but when I did comparisons, I figured the Regza was the best buy since it supported full HD 1080P (the Samsung at the same size only had 1080i). This means that this baby’s configured for the future when Blu-Ray or HD DVDs become more affordable.

And trust me, the pictures and the color are really clear. I love it!
Here are some specs:
- ATSC/NTSC & QAM Digital Television Tuners
- CineSpeed Panel with Response Time of less than 8ms
- Panel Resolution - 1366 x 768
- PixelPure Hi-Bit12-Bit Digital Video Processing
- Digital Noise Reduction (Anti-shaking too).
The Regza is a fine LCD TV and I just tested it with original DVDs and even some games with my PS2. Quality was awesome. I still have to get a new console like an Xbox 360 or a Wii. But that’s another project and maybe a couple more months of savings. Thanks to my P20K win at Ad Congress , some savings, and the 13th month pay, I was able to finally buy a TV of my dreams.
Here’s what it looked like before I picked it up at the appliance store:

And here it is after the set-up at my bedroom

Happy New Year peeps!
Ciao,

It is not a full HD TV (1080P). It is only a 1080P capable LCD TV, but better than a samsung at only 1080i
