How does a guild win? Simple! Just be the either the first guild to reach level 50 OR the Biggest guild with extensions (and highest level) by the end of the contest wins. THis event is only available in New Chaos, of course. Your guild could win items such as a Megingard or Mjolnir and an EB package worth P20,000 on us.

At last, the long downtime due to the server merge is finally done and I’d like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to New Chaos (November 14, 2008), Ragnarok’s latest merged-server.

New Chaos is the amalgamation of Baldur, Tyr and Freya. First, I’d like to apologize for the long downtime. As you may all know, the RO database is more than 5 years old and we have MILLIONS of accounts that need to be split. The entire process took longer than we expected. Again, we’re sorry to keep you guys waking. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who chipped in to make this monumental task a reality…

Here’s part 2 of my Girls of GStar 2008 (Booth Babes) coverage.

Gstar is Korea’s annual online game expo. There are scores of big-time developers such as Nexon, JCE, NCsoft, CJ Internet and Hanngame with HUGE exhibit booths. Here they display their latest games and achievements. Of course, the main attraction whenever there are big gaming events are the booth babes.

It’s going to be a big treat for all of you, loyal Level Up gamers as we save the best for last!

The entire Level Up team is cooking up one helluva storm this last quarter. It starts off with LIVE 2008 - the biggest online gaming event on Philippine shores. This year, we took it up another notch by hosting the Ragnarok World Championships, the first ever RWC held outside of Seoul, Korea. The entire world watched and was in awe of the massive event where 20,000 gamers trooped to the WTC to witness history.

And that was just the beginning…

America may be headed for change as Barrack Obama, the US’ 44th president and first afro-american takes to the oval office this January. But what does an Obama presidency hold for the future of video games? First, Obama targeted gamers by coming up with ads directly inside games such as NBA 2008 and Burnout Paradise. Some say that the last game he played was Pong, and that was thirty years ago, perhaps older than the generation that voted for him via a landslide in a historic election.

Gstar won’t start until tomorow, but today I attended the 2nd FlyFF Global Workshop, a gathering of different publishers of FlyFF from all across the globe. I’d like to thank our partners from Aeonsoft and Gala for making this annual event possible and for inviting Level Up. Also, I learned a lot and gained some insights on how to manage and market the game as other publishers also shared their expertise… keen on going back and sharing these with the FlyFF team.

Meanwhile, I thought I was dreaming but I downloaded a 106MB file in 56 seconds a couple of minutes ago (here at the hotel room)! Wow! Lupet!
