Faster broadband. As part of the country's workforce now, I'd settle for doing things I do in the least possible time than the prettiest way possible. Besides, I've little time to play now =( Maybe sometime in the future when but for now it's broadband for me.

For disadvantages
On Broadband
1. There's literally thousands of things to distract you but at least you can earn from them. In my example Wiki, Youtube/Metacafe, ebooks, YM/Skype, blogging, affliates, sideline clients, etc.
2. You need more storage. A LOT MORE. 250GB fills up so easily on a 4MBps line

On Video Card
1. Power consumption goes through the roof.
2. You will end up playing more and doing less (OH YES 18 hrs of FPS will suck you dry --> from experience with UT2k4 on my former gaming rig)
3. You'll always want more juice. It's never enough.

A nice looking game won't do diddly squat if it's lagging all the time due to DSL slowdowns. However, the fastest DSL won't save you if all you can play on your low video card PC is minesweeper and solitaire.

I would choose a faster DSL connection because there's more to the internet than just games. There's work (Boo!)

I'd choose a faster connection. I play but not all the time, so a good video card would only be advantageous to me if I was a harcore gamer and playing games like Crysis others.

And some video cards no matter how expensive and high-end still have limitations.

i would prefer faster broadband connection because as long as your game is running on a minimal spec video card, you should be able to play the game with no apparent issues.. I also think that video cards should not be described as fast.. i think you should refer to it as a high-end video card
