At 1:20pm today, a loud explosion occurred at the Glorietta mall in Makati.

According to a fast report at inquirer.net,  the cops think it’s from an accidental LPG explosion; “Our initial report is that it was an accidental explosion of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). We are still trying to determine if there are any casualties,” National Capital Region Police Office chief Geary Barias told Agence France-Presse.

Meanhwile, the reporters from Inquirer have seen “smoke coming out of the Glorietta 3 as security personnel cordoned the area, near a bus stop, and shepherded people away.”

According to witnesses, the explosion was so intense that the entire building shook and window glass shattered all over the mall. The blast happened at 1:20pm. I can still hear sirens from below as I type this.

I hope that no one is seriously hurt.
