You’ve been playing your favorite MMORPG game for over a year now. You’ve done it all… got the best gear, killed the toughest bosses, tried all the quessts and kicked the butts of all the toughest players.
Sometimes, that damn patch or game update is late and there’s really nothing to do. You’re sick and tired of doing the same things over and over again.
Has this happened to you? If you answer “yes” then I’ve cooked up some tips to help you stave off those ‘boredom fits’ and bring back life into your online gaming…

Alrighty!
Let’s get down and dirty:
1. Check out if there are special events – Trust me, if a game patch is late, the one in charge of the game is often stressed out. He can see that his concurrent numbers (CCU) are dropping and the whining levels at the forums increase. When this happens, he’ll usually ask the GMs to make special events. These could range from the simple EXP or mod increase to creative story-arc events. Go to your games’ forums and/or website and check out the announcements. You’ll be glad you did. If you see a special event that catches your fancy, go and call your old friends and participate.
2. Organize your OWN events – sounds complex? Nah! It really is simple. You can go and organize your own events within your guild. Try setting up goals (such as item drops) and then set-up “check points” – and what do you have??? Why, an “amazing race” type of mini-game. Organize this properly and it’ll over TONS of fun for you and your guildmates. As an alternative event too, you might set an entire night as a “Role-Playing” night for your guild or party. No one can talk l33t-speak – everyone HAS to stay in character. Go on a true a quest. It’s loads of fun! Try it and I’m sure you’ll agree.
3. Do something old in a new way – Is that instanced dungeon already a piece-o-cake? Why don’t you try it with your alts (Alternate Characters) and without the uber gear. Call it a “skill-based” raid. This time, it’s like fighting zombies with pea-shooters. You’ll get a new perspective on high-level dungeons, monsters and bosses this way. Besides, this will force you and your team to come up with NEW solutions on strategy. “This is a pretty cool skill… I’m glad I found out”.
4. Play in the same venue – You and your guild always playing online but never together? Organize a “Cafe” night. Just call them up, pick an Internet Cafe and then game there together. It sure saves on “typing time” since you just yell at each other to coordinate attacks and defense. Also, you can then go out with your buddies (gimmick) before or after the MMO-bash!
Again… hoping that the tips above bring you a fresh perspective on playing!
Strength and Honor!
