We all know that Crysis topped a lot of charts. In fact, it can crush your PC rig to its limits just by the sheer video and hardware requirements of the game.
Now, execs over at Crytek said that Crysis is THE most pirated game.
“We are suffering currently from the huge piracy that is encompassing Crysis. We seem to lead the charts in piracy by a large margin, a chart leading that is not desirable.” said Crytek president Cevat Yerli.

Yerli adds; “I believe that’s the core problem of PC Gaming, piracy… PC gamers that pirate games inherently destroy the platform. Similar games on consoles sell factors of 4-5 more. It was a big lesson for us and I believe we won’t have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future. We are going to support PC, but not exclusive anymore.”
As of February this year, Crysis, released in November 2007, has sold over 1 million authentic copies worldwide. But despite this, Crytek is still NOT going to port the game over to next-gen consoles such as the 360 or the PS 3.
“Crysis would have to be largely changed to bring it to Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Crysis is designed to be PC Exclusive. Our internal focus is not linked to bringing Crysis to consoles.” Yerli said.
