Crysis FPS and CryEngine 2 for PC

November 19, 2007 · Filed Under General, Videos, Gaming

Graphics video power has grown so fast that many of us can’t keep up with the need for better (and more expensive) video cards. Here’s another reason to save up for Christmas and upgrade your gaming rig - Crysis by EA and developed by Crytek, makers of the uber-cool CryEngine 2 graphics engine used for the game.

Last November 13, Crysis finally shipped out to North America and Europe retail outlets. Featuring jaw-dropping visuals, industry leading technology and open-ended gameplay, Crysis is set to break new ground in the FPS genre and has already received a 98% from PC Gamer, the highest score ever awarded in the magazine’s 14-year history.

Crysis is the culmination of the dedication and tenacity of everyone here at Crytek who shared the goal of creating a true next-generation FPS,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. “Our vision from the beginning was to deliver an immersive, open-ended single-player campaign, to innovative in multiplayer and to give our community a powerful, easy-to-use editor and we’re extremely proud of the end result.”

Check out the cool video after the jump. It will make you drool with realistic lighting and other effects.

Oh well, time to save up money for a new video card. My PC will choke up and die when I try to play this. Sigh

LOL. I’m sure your blog is earning you more than enough. I just saw an Asus EEE on the mall so I’m holding back my purchase and leave you guys to enjoy Crysis first.

Also, I suggest buying a 8800GT card ASAP. You know how stores are during the xmas seasons

[…] Crysis may have set a new benchmark in terms of what the 3D capabilities of the modern-day computer are. Alone in the Dark is setting the pace for HD console gaming… but do you know that Microsoft Excel may be revolutionary when it comes 3D game engine platforms? […]

[…] I’ve been musing over how huge the hardware requirements for video games are. Want to play a game such as Crysis? Then you’ve got to bleed cash for you to enjoy it. How about HD gaming? Surely, you need a […]

  7. playing crysis on low end rig (workstation build) on April 9th, 2008 1:22 pm

an 8600GT ddr3(around 4k) is enough to play crysis provided you have at least 2G memory to back it up and a dual core processor, and dx10 (enhances atmospherics game physics and time of day)

I applied a 3rd party tweaking program which called tripleC pack 1.31 that allows you to play crysis with custom settings that makes the graphic settings as though ur playing it on high settings on a low end rig. though I get only 22-25 fps (sometimes drop to 18)doesn’t matter for me anyway as long as I can enjoy all the eye candy in the game - photorealistic sunrises/sets, water behaves like almost real water it almost feels like your really swimming in the sea destructible objects motion blur soft shadows to name a few

my pc(supposed to be a workstation rig)
    Athlon 64 X2 4400, inno3d 8600gt ddr3, 2gig ram, windows vista
