Contest: gmtristan.com Group Writing Project

August 13, 2007 · Filed Under General, Blogging, Contests, Online, Gaming, Events

At long last, I finally finished the mechanics of the Gaming Group Writing Project/Contest and I’m really excited to get the first few entries and to read up on them. I’ve already explained the goal of this project in a previous post.

We’re starting the contest officially today, Aug 13.  As an overview, this will run for 6 weeks. Do check out the complete mechanics after the jump.

Meanwhile the theme for our first week is:

Online Games & MMORPGs: Is it a mirror of the real world?

Complete mechanics after the jump…

MECHANICS

1. Eligibility (Who can join?)

  • Anyone with a blog can join
  • Blogs can be owned by individuals, groups or corporations
  • Posts can be in English, Tagalog or Taglish

2. Duration

  • The Writing Project/Contest will run for 6 weeks.
  • It will start on Aug 13, 2007 and will end on September 24, 2007

3. General Conditions

  • Every week, I will post a general theme about gaming, online games and MMORPGs
  • To join, simply write a post related to that week’s theme with a link back to the Group Writing Project URL (this post) and (sometimes when I request it) to the URL of that week’s theme.
  • You can include photos and videos in your post (but please credit the source since it’s web-etiquette)
  • Once you finish the post, simply CONTACT ME and submit the ff: a) your name (as you would want it to appear) b) title of your post and c) the EXACT URL of that post. The subject of your e-mail (in the Contact Me Form) must be “GM T Group Writing Project”
  • I will be checking all linkbacks daily and will compose a summary post every Friday; linking your name, your post and your blog in that capsule article
  • There is no limit to the number of entries one can post. The more posts, the more “link love” your blog will get.

SAMPLE ENTRY POST

I’ve been an online gamer since 2003. I first found out about online games when a friend of mine gave me a CD of Ragnarok Online from Level Up Games. I found it to be a cute and cool game. Not only was it fun, you can play it even when just using a dial-up connection. Ever since that time, I have been addicted to MMORPGs and have never stopped playing. I gained a lot of friends during my “gaming career”. This post is an official entry to GM Tristan’s Group Writing Project which you can also join. I hope I win the prize! I promise to write again next week!

4. Determining The Winner

  • At the end of the Group Writing Project I will decide the TOP 10 blogs
  • Based on the creativity and writing technique(s), I will choose the TOP 10 finalists. The number of posts will also play a small factor in this.
  • The TOP 10 Finalists will then be submitted to a public poll where you, my dear readers, will decide on the final winner.
  • The URL and details of the poll will be posted by me after the culmination of the writing project. The poll will run for a week.
  • Final winner will be announced at the end of the poll.

5. PRIZES

  • There will one (1) Grand Winner and 3 consolation winners
    • GRAND PRIZE (1)
      1 GB USB Flash Drive
1 Limited Edition RWC Team Philippines Jacket (to be confirmed)
      1 Limited Edition Ragnarok OST
1 New RO Poring Doll stuffed toy
60 days free banner at www.gmtristan.com
    • CONSOLATION PRIZE (3)
1 Level Up shirt (design and specifics to be announced)
      1 P350 Level Up Top-Up Card each
Various LU merchandise (to be announced)
1 New RO Poring Doll stuffed toy

*NOTE: The prizes may evolve and I may post additional prizes as updates ASAP. Photos also to be posted soon

6. CLAIMING THE PRIZE

  • I will email the winner as soon as it is announced with instructions on how to claim it and/or have the prizes shipped.

7. SPONSORSHIPS

  • In case anyone would like to sponsor additional prizes, kindly get in touch with me to discuss details. Thanks.

Best of luck to everyone. Let the blogging begin and send those entries now!

Strength and Honor,

GM Tristan

in general online shopping is increasing the buying power .people can buy laptop of any brand and lots of companies offer them online prize for example extra laptop batteries and all other electronics like television, stereo, dvd and flat panel tv.people don’t prefer to buy the dvd for daily movies that is why the business of online dvd rental is very common nowadays.
