China Says No to Chicksilogs
The MMORPG, King of the World, operated by Aurora Technoligies, a subsidiary of Shanda - one of the biggest online game companies in China, has recently frozen all male-owned accounts with a female character(s).
We, here in the Philippines, call those female avatars being played by guys as “Chicksilogs” - chicks with eggs (itlog).
Anyways, I really don’t know the reason why they did this but according to report by Gaming Today; “Now, only female players can play female characters, and they’re required to prove their gender via a webcam. Females wanting to play males are still allowed though.”
Via a webcam??? Sweet!

Perhaps one of the reasons for this law is that there are a lot of scammers. Or it simply is a crime to portray a female character in THAT game? Beats me.
Whatever the cause, I’d think they’d be losing a lot of customers this way. I’m sure a lot will complain. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories in MMORPGs of dealings with these Chicksilogs but this is the first time I’ve heard that it is officially against game policy to be playing one.
Oh well, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Hmm via a webcam? I’m not sure that’s 100% foolproof kasi what if they ask someone else to show their face sa webcam, then register under a female name?
Hehehe parang ang daya din na females are still allowed to use male characters XD although I’m pretty sure na konti lang yung gumagawa nun as compared to males using female characters..

Aaaay! Mga ka-pederasyon!
Mga sisters! Wahehehe
for me, playing a game as a girl is funner simply because female characters are cuter so they’re funner to use =/
