When game leader Blizzard puts together a show, it’s a spectacle to behold. The Blizzard Worldwide Invitational 2008, held in Paris last weekend, was one awesome event!
That’s where they announced Diablo 3, my bosses, Ben “Gameboss” Colayco, Level Up international COO and Phil Cahiwat, Level Up international content director were there to witness everything. Wish I was with them. Anyways, it was a grand Blizzard party filled with talks, game demos, tournaments, cosplay and shops.
Every once in a while, a company will come up with a great idea.
In this case, it’s Nintendo - with the Wii Fit, a device that you attach to the Wii which acts like a surfboard. With it, you can do all kinds of exercises like surfing, hoola-hoops, etc… while having fun at the same time.
And then, someone comes up with an EVEN BETTER idea: have the 2008 Playboy Cyber Girl do a viral video using the Wii Fit. If Nintendo was behind this, it’s a genius ploy. I’d really love to just look at a sexy babe on the Wii Fit over and over and over and over and over again.
Meanwhile, the CBT for Crazy Kart is really fun (and crazy too). In fact, I’ve seen some eager karters reach level 50 or more already. Idol! If you still haven’t tried the CBT, do so now.
Now, I just want to share with you the third official Crazy Kart trailer. It’s a little something I did over the weekend.
The soon-to-be-released Guitar Hero: World Tour has added a drum set, mic and a brand new spanking design to their guitar as part of an entirely package and experience. Obviously in an effort to pounce on Rock Band, the guys at Guitar Hero are at it to make both gameplay and gadgets shine with innovation and clever ideas (like the Music Creator) that I hope won’t disappoint.
What’s new with the GH drums? One word - cymbals! Check it out…
It seems that Blizzard has finally unveiled one of the most anticipated games of our time. And I promise you, the cinematic trailer will impress you and then the gameplay demo will blow your mind away.
I’ve always wanted to make my own viral, youtube video. And this is my first attempt at one. Entitled, “Jobert and his RF Guild”, this is partially inspired by great, Filipino, youtube hits such as Benjo and the 300.
I just found out that the makers of ‘Benjo’ are RF players (it says so in the end-credits). Props to the great creativity! I had a blast and laughed my heart out even if I was just reading the sub-titles.
Meanwhile, the video below is taken from the classic Japanese series, Lone Wolf and Cub (circa 1972). I just added some subtitles to create the story of “Jobert”, a typical Pinoy player who borrows in-game items… and then does the absurd.
I’ve been playing the CBT of Crazy Kart for some time now. The game is fast and fun, that much I can tell you.
I’ve also been receiving a lot of your feedback via email and thank you for all the kind words and also for reporting some of the minor bugs and errors during the CBT. There are now a lot of players inside the games and the rooms are always full. It takes a mastery of the drift, the proper “curving” and strategy on using the “weapons” that makes the game exciting, challenging and fun. There are various degrees of difficulty when it comes to maps too.
The game gurus (or the GPS guys - Game Play Specialists) have helped me do an in-game video of the actual CBT. Thanks guys, I owe you merienda. There are individual and team races but the team races are the most fun.
They pissed off Adam Sessler, host of G4TV. According to Gaming Today, Sessler was playing Xbox Live when a 10-year-old kid started calling him names. Surely, these bigots can’t get enough of ruining a good guy’s day. This doesn’t happen just in Xbox Live, mind you. I’ve seen it (and experienced it) first-hand during the course of MMO playing.
The much anticipated Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition was launched last June 7, 2008 with Wizards of the Coast, official publishers of game declaring that day as “Game Day”. A special game day website was made by WotC so that fans and players can hook up with one another to try out the new ed of D&D.
Without D&D, none of this MMORPG or fantasy gaming would have existed. Also, being an old vet of pen-and-paper RPGs, I’m quite excited about the launch too, having heard that the 4th Ed takes D&D gaming into the virtual and online environment with such tools as the D&D Insider.
After the break, I’ll show you what’s new in D&D 4th Ed and also a special video feature by G4TV with an interview with head designer and WotC R&D Director Bill Slaviseck.
We all know for a fact that Pinoys are creative. Add to that fact that these guys are RF Online players and it’s a sure winner.
Am talking about the hit duo, moymoy palaboy who’ve made a name for themselves at youtube doing awesome and funny lipsync acts. My hats off to both of you for a great job! Truly spectacular…
Here’s moymoy with their hit single “Wannabee” which already has more than 800K hits.
Meanwhile, check out their full-length production MTV of “Low” from Flo Rida after the jump
