One of the issues encountered during our campaign for the new RF Novus Rising patch is the fact that it needs Windows SP3 to run. Well, after some testing, we found out that it only needs a PART of service pack 3: the Visual C++ Redistributable.
This is good news to all players/cafe owners who experience the error above. You no longer need to download SP3 in order for Novus Rising to work.

Last Friday, April 24, we took all the RF servers offline to setup the newest patch, Novus Rising. It took more than 24 hours non-stop to do. A million thanks goes to all the dedicated people who’ve sacrificed sleep (and their weekends) just to make sure that Novus Rising will be up and running.
The servers finally came up around 8am on Saturday morning. It wasn’t 100% perfect but we’re going to patch a lot of stuff ASAP.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us make Novus Rising a success.
Great news! RF Novus Rising patches today, April 24, 2009.
To make the transition from Crimson Dawn to Novus Rising easier, I’ve compiled some important information for everyone. As of 7:00am today, all servers for RF Philippines went down to begin the task of setting up for Novus Rising.

You can now download the installer for RF Philippines’ latest (and most awaited) patch, Novus Rising
Key features for Novus Burning include the level cap increase from 55 to 66, New Weapons and Armor (Yellow MAU. Woot!) and of course, fixes to some major technical glitches and bugs in our current system (yes, Virginia, no more server crashes!!!).
Before you download it, here are important reminders: 1) DO NOT RUN IT UNTIL THE LAUNCH DATE 2) You have to Uninstall your old RF client and then do a fresh install.

We’ve been slowly winning against the “War on Terror” on RF Online. These “terrorists” are the cheaters and hackers who crash the RF servers on purpose.
Recently, through our OWN initiative (without the help of CCR), we did something that reduced the server crashes. Of course, we can’t tell you the exact details otherwise the cheaters and hackers will use it against us. Although the problem is not totally solved, at least there’s a huge reduction in the number of server crashes.

I won’t keep it a secret. It’s obviously the talk of the entire RF community.
A lot of hackers and cheaters are deliberately crashing the RF servers so they can dupe some items. This has been a really pain in the @$$ for us and our loyal and fair players. We’ve been banging our heads together and the team has come up with a temporary solution to combat the “War on Terror” – disable both the registration page and character deletion indefinitely. This way, the cheaters and crashers won’t be able to make nuisance accounts to crash the servers and do illegal trades of dupe items.

Now, in a cool and funny remix by Orkzie, Hitler and his Bellato army commanders are frustrated about the cheat engine users and hackers. So are we. Yeah, we hear you guys. We’re working on it. We hope that CCR finally listens and helps us rid the game of these darn cheaters.

The entire Level Up team is cooking up one helluva storm this last quarter. It starts off with LIVE 2008 – the biggest online gaming event on Philippine shores. This year, we took it up another notch by hosting the Ragnarok World Championships, the first ever RWC held outside of Seoul, Korea. The entire world watched and was in awe of the massive event where 20,000 gamers trooped to the WTC to witness history.
And that was just the beginning…

The official website of RF Online Philippines, http://www.rfonline.ph recently won the Digital Filipino Web Awards 2008. RF’s very own GM Cydie, Myla Rumbaoa accepted the award in behalf of Level Up and the RF team. The awards night was held last November 5 at the SM Mall of Asia.

One of the winners of the LIVE 2008 Cosplay (Best female cosplayer) is “that Cora Girl”. Well, she’s not a “Jane Doe” anymore. Her real name is Shelah Zephaniah S. Espino or simply “Zeph” for short.
My good friend Master Diwa, also a reknowned cosplayer, did an interview of Zeph. Apparently, this is the first time that Zeph cosplayed for a major event. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of Zeph in the coming months. ”It feels great! We were ecstatic, we were overwhelmed and surprised! There are a lot of good cosplayers out there, and I wasn’t even thinking of winning then. I just wanted to get it over with, in a good way though. I loved being in my Cora costume, so it helped ease the pressure.” Zeph said.
