Road to Live Photo Essay

Last Saturday, October 4, we did the Road to Live event at the SM Mall of Asia. The main event was the Grand Finals of RPC 2008 and once the dust settled, it was Bozanian Beast Fighters who came out the winner. Besting 7 others in the Final 8, Boza is now officially Team Philippines and will represent out country in RWC 2008 on Oct 18 and 19 at the LIVE 2008 event (World Trade Center).

Meanwhile, we had lots of fun at the event. Yours truly, together with GM Atma and the other Community Managers did the hosting and raffled off scores of in-game items, jackets, shirts and freebies.

Demise of Morroc Official Trailer 1

As promised, here’s our first official trailer for Ragnarok’s newest patch, Demise of Morroc (aka Satan Morroc in other countries).

The patch will have lots of new content for pRO players including the Resurrection of Morroc Quest, the new Battlegrounds 19-vs-19 PVP map and the Endless Dungeon. Currently, Demise of Morroc is at Sakray server so you can actually test it with us. It will launch at the first week of November.

I’ll be blogging more about the details of ‘Demise’ in the coming weeks.

Boza is RPC 2008 Champion

For the second year in a row (the first ever), the Bozanian Beast Fighters of Baldur is once again the champions of this year’s Ragnarok Philippine Championships. They get the honor of representing our country this October 18 and 19 at the Raganarok World Championships in LIVE 2008. The RPC 2008 grand finals was held yesterday at the SM Mall of Asia where the top 8 competed for the honor to be Team Philippines.

Boza defeated team Renegades of Tyr 3-0 in the finals. Renegades meanwhile came from behind a 1-0 deficit in the semis to capture the finals slot from Boza’s second team, the winners of the ultimate card slot.

New Ragnarok Battlegrounds PVP System

We are currently testing the latest Philippine Ragnarok Online patch, Episode 18, Demise of Morroc (otherwise known as Satan Morroc in other countries). One of the most exciting features in this new episode is the Battlegrounds PVP system, two 19-vs-19 maps where you can challenge other players to a duel. Sort of like “capture the flag” type of mechanics, the Battlegrounds arena also offers “badges” if you win. You can exchange these badges for armor, weapons and other gear.

RPC 2008 Final 8

After months of intense competition, there will only be 8!

I’m proud to present to you the FINAL 8 teams for as we head for the quarter finals of the Ragnarok Philippine Championships 2008. Originally, we planned to just have 4 teams duke it out for October 4 at the MOA. But now, we hear ya players! WE’RE BRINGING ALL 8 for a slugfest of unearthly proportions!

Support your favorite teams. Support your servers! One them will ultimately be TEAM PHILIPPINES and will represent our country at the Ragnarok World Championships 2008 at LIVE. There’s only one way to find out - attend the event this Saturday!

The New RO Midgard Congress

Yesterday, I was back at the office early afternoon for the first meeting of the new Ragnarok Midgard Congress. Thanks to the efforts of GM Cassiel and new RO Community Manager GM Anael, who organized the meet at the Chow King meeting area just below our Pacific Star office. Thanks to everyone who attended. Almost all the servers were represented.

In the good-ol’-days, you’ll remember that we used to form regular Midgard Congress meetings while I still working with the old GMs like Phage and Huggybear. Now, with the new Ragnarok team, one of our first agreements is to go back to the basics - to talk to our players and get to know their real sentiments about the game.

New MVP Scrolls for Ragnarok PH

We recently released 3 new MVP item scrolls for Ragnarok Online.

I especially like the Ghost Ring MVP scroll which gives the user GR properties for a minute! Wow! This will be good during PVP sieges. The next one is the Pheeroni MVP scroll which grants +100 hit for 1 minute. These items are currently available in the pRO Free-to-Play servers’ item mall (Valkyrie and Valhalla).

Ragnarok 2 Dance Video

It’s now the “ber” months. LIVE 2008 is just around the corner and Gravity is bringing the Ragnarok World Championships 2008 to the Philippines.

What better way to kindle back the Ragnarok spirit with a Ragnarok 2 video, eh? Anyways, credit for this video goes to Signum. I really can’t wait for RO2 as well. Still no official word from Gravity. But once I get news, so will you.
