10 Lame Movie Games

It’s sad indeed when a big movie comes along and a game (through marketing execs’ insistence perhaps) adaptation comes along that makes you want to puke. It’s punishment for us gamers!

The inverse also holds true. Great video games become lame movies. Perhaps, with the exception of Tomb Raider. Anyways, I digress. I already told you the 10 Wost Ways to Die in a video game. After seeing the video below, you’ll wish you did.

That list and vid after one more click…

Second Skin - MMO Movie Documentary

Second Skin, by Purewest Films (www.secondskinfilm.com) is new, movie/documentary about online games and MMORPGs.

What’s interesting here is they take 7 gamers whose lives changed forever because of virtual worlds. The movie tackles identity, community, economy, love, addiction and many other facets of this growing worldwide “boom”. The movie states that 50 million people play MMORPGs - your friend, relative, officemate, classmate or even your mom could be a gamer.

Their official movie site details the film more: “Second Skin takes an intimate look at computer gamers whose lives have been transformed by the emerging genre of Massively Multiplayer Online games (MMOs). World of Warcraft, Second Life, and Everquest allow millions of users to simultaneously interact in virtual spaces. Second Skin introduces us to couples who have fallen in love without meeting, disabled players who have found new purpose, addicts, Chinese gold-farming sweatshop workers, wealthy online entrepreneurs and legendary guild leaders - all living in a world that doesn’t quite exist.”

HD Trailers - My New Hobby

Eversince I got my big-ass TV, downloading high-definition (HD) movie and game trailers has been a new and enjoyable hobby for me.

In fact, I even “infected” some officemates and friends to scrap the idea of just watchin low-res streaming vids and trailers and really experience what high-definition truly is. Now, they’re into collecting HD trailers too. Alrighty!

Trust me, once you see it, you’ll definitely won’t go back to low-res or crappy, grainy videos ever again. I also convert it to PSP format so the vids can be ‘mobile’ and I can show it to others and share.

[ movies ] Rambo Death Chart

Have you seen the new Rambo movie? I did and I enjoyed it. I won’t call it great. It simply is entertaining. Considering that Stallone produced, wrote, starred and directed this flick, it’s not so bad either. Story? What’s that?

Not to spoil it, I’ll just say that it follows the old “Rambo formula” - he’s just minding his own business and they pushed him (yet again). Oh well… after the first 3 minutes, it will be Rambo all the way. Note that this movie is the bloodiest and goriest Rambo yet (the way I like it. Yeah baby!)

Oh yeah, some dudes did their math to compare the blood and gore of the new Rambo vs. the old ones. Using metrics, they compiled it into the Rambo Death Chart.

I’ll show that to you after one more click…
