LIVE 2009 Regionals and iRL Events Suspended

In light of the current situation over the AH1N1 virus, we have decided to suspended (indefinitely) the Regional events for LIVE 2009.

This is in line with the DOH’s thrust and of course, for the safety of everyone as well. For all competitors, there’s no reason to worry. Although the iRL events may be cancelled, we will be announcing an online version of the tournaments soon.

Baguio LIVE 2009 Regionals in Photos

Yesterday, I just flew back from Cebu from the wild and successful Visayas leg of the LIVE 2009 Regional tour. I promised to post some updates and pics, but allow me to catch up first and blog about the Baguio leg first, our Luzon kick-off of the LIVE 2009 Regional tournaments for all major Level Up games. This is way overdue… am so busy.

Me and the rest of the LU GMs went up to Baguio last June 13 and 14 for 2 days of intense PVP and tournament action. The Level Up site already announced the highlights and the official list of winners.

RF Starts Cleaning Up Game Economy

When I wrote about Novus Rising, the new RF patch which fixed the server crashes and raised the level cap to 66, I got a lot of comments and questions about our plans to fix the economy. As you may all know, the game economy is rather stunted with the influx of duped and illegal items which came from causing the servers to crash and exploiting this to make illegal, duped items. I told you then that everything will be addressed in due time.

Now, we’re starting to make good on that promise.

The RF team has initiated steps to clean up the economy inside the game. Good news, indeed!

Rohan Forge Refine Event Bukas

Rohan EXP Mods and Sale Extended. Ayus!

Good news, warriors of Rohan!

The Rohan Philippines team will be having another round of EXP/Drop and Discounted Sale of selected items at the item mall. The EXP and DROP “Power Leveling Periods” (PLP’s) starting Wednesday May 6, 2009 to May 10, 2009 from 8:00PM to 12:00AM everyday. (e.g. mods will be turned on at 8:00PM and will be turned off at 12 Midnight. Next PLP will be on 8:00PM the following night).

Download RF New Patch: Novus Rising

You can now download the installer for RF Philippines’ latest (and most awaited) patch, Novus Rising

Key features for Novus Burning include the level cap increase from 55 to 66, New Weapons and Armor (Yellow MAU. Woot!) and of course, fixes to some major technical glitches and bugs in our current system (yes, Virginia, no more server crashes!!!).

Before you download it, here are important reminders: 1) DO NOT RUN IT UNTIL THE LAUNCH DATE 2) You have to Uninstall your old RF client and then do a fresh install.

Rohan Philippines Launches Fifth Server

Yesterday, the Rohan PH team launched the newest server - AKHMA.

Akhma, the fifth server for Rohan, joins the other four: Torian, Silva, Syrephis and Marea.

FlyFF V13 Sneak Peak

The Life of A Chinese Gold Farmer

Despite government, civic groups and media features, the Chinese gold farming industry - with online game World of Warcraft as the primary vehicle, continues on.

Some proponents of the underground industry are adamant that the supply is still huge. They think that gold farming will continue to exist because players will continue to look for it and pay for it. “The reason people buy gold is the same reason they pay people to wash their car - they would rather spend money than do it themselves”, said one anonymous Chinese gold farmer.
