The Ultimate FPS Surround Experience

I thought that big-ass monitors that almost surround the player was the best 3D FPS experience. Well… I’m about to be proven wrong. The gun (above) was launched at the recent Quake Con by a company called Macrovision.

Touted as the Tuatara, it has all the controls on the gun and it will project the game on any wall. Move the gun up and you can see the sky, move it left and… you get what I mean.

Watch the video… it’s better than my words! Peace!

Street Fighter X Tekken: The Best Fighting Game Yet

The 2 best fighting game franchises from Capcom and Namco will collide in Street Fighter X Tekken. Recently, it was just announced that a mega collaboration between the 2 companies is already underway.

It’s set for a 2011 release date for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Enough rambling! I’m a huge fan of both games… trailer and actual game play after the break…

Plants Vs Zombies 2 Coming This August?

So what really is the score for the much anticipated sequel to the smash hit, Plants vs Zombies. Here in my blog, one of the best visited entry page is my tips for Endless Survival. I also recently featured an article on the HD version for the iPad.

Some folks over at PC Gamer claimed to have received an email from Popcap that said to “save the date” for August 2, 2010.

Dragon Age Origins Review (Guest Post)

This article is guest-posted by Jovy Soriano, who I recently featured in my Gamer Profile section. Jovy’s also one of my mods, an elite privileged few tasked to maintain order at my Facebook Fan Page

I opened guest posting in my blog in order to develop young talent, to help them harness their writing skills and for them to share their knowledge and talent to the entire world (and the whole geek/gaming community).

Nice work here by Jovy as she reviews a game she recently played. I also played this game and it’s one awesome Fantasy adventure.

Without further ado…

5 Online Game Design Notes For The Future

It used to be simpler 8 to 10 odd years or so ago, the online gaming market wasn’t as cramped, cutthroat and saturated like what it is today. In today’s unforgiving industry, a LOT of games get designed, put on the proverbial closed beta axe and (around 80% to 90%) will never get to see the light of day. This may be due to the fact that most games are just rehashes or old gimmicks or, sadly, clones of more popular AAA titles. There toooo much fantasy titles out there. The teams that tried to stay away from them are also having a hard time.

Only the innovative designs strike a big chance of seeing their titles go past the betas and earn money in the “commercial” stage. A like-the-rest-of-em game may be a modest hit but if another similar title comes up with better graphics, it’s difficult to start all over again and retain players.

Here’s my unsolicited advice for the design/developer talents out there… some ideas off the top of my head on how to make things work…

5 Reasons Why Games Get Better With Alcohol

Video games, let’s face it… are a guy thing. So are beer and booze.

No wonder a lot of us mix both our favorite things. Some drink while gaming when in a social activity, like parties or get-togethers. Dorks can only expect booze as company in lieu of the girls. Sigh.

But do games really get better with alcohol? Let’s see…
