Model Marissa Miller loves surfing. In fact, it was during surfing that she had a break in her modeling career. She was discovered by Mario Testino, a famous photographer. He took a few pictures of her and went back to his studio. Not long afterwards, Marisa was called and asked if he wanted to become a model.
You might not know it but Marissa is also a gamer. She loves playing Guitar Hero.
In an interview at SportsIllustrated, she said “I think I’m always crazy and obsessed with music. Usually the background for my life is different music and trying to get the energy up. So, I mean, music is always a big one. What else am I crazy about? I’ve been playing Guitar Hero a lot lately [laughs]. Do you play that game? It’s so addicting and you feel like such a rock star, so I’ve been doing that a lot. It’s so funny because you feel like you’re actually a musician, even though you’re not.”
You can fret us all day, Marissa and we won’t miss a beat for you.
Due to a “request”, I’m featuring this week’s GM T Girl - Olivia Munn.
Olivia may be the hottest nerd gamer chick ever. Born July 2, 1982 in Oklahoma, Olivia is half-Chinese and half American. After some modeling jobs and stints, her real claim to fame is being the host of the popular tech TV show, Attack of the Show! at G4TV.
Olivia was also a Playboy Babe of the Month (non-nude, of course) for April 2007. There, she reveals how she enjoys tweaking her PC and driving. “I think I’m a great driver,” she says, as if we assumed she isn’t. “People in the car with me get scared, but I’m totally in control.”
Let’s see if YOU can stay in control. More photos after the jump
In fact, I try to post a girl every week. But what I’d really like to find out are your OWN THOUGHTS and preferences. Who’d yah like to see next?
Do tell me if you want a girl (foreign or local) covered here at the blog and I’ll try my best to do a little “web research” and feature her for the week. In fact, you can even suggest your female gamer friends to be featured for a Gamer Babe interview. All you have to do is either CONTACT ME via e-mail or simply comment below.
So, it’s up to you to decide. The ball’s on your court. And btw, if you have a blog and your suggestion gets picked, I’d be more than happy to give a little “link love” back.
This month’s Gamer Babe just celebrated her birthday today… even though me, her and the other Level Up managers are currently out for corporate planning here at Tagaytay. So, I’d like to wish Marissa a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Marissa’s our Project Manager. Her charm and kind personality lends an air of kindness in the office. A stark contrast to the very stressful tasks and projects that she manages. Even though faced with excel sheets, a hundred forms and hard deadlines, Marissa still manages to make time for some gaming on the side to “de-stress”, so to speak.
So, without further ado, let’s all welcome Gamer Babe Marissa!
Marissa’s complete profile and interview after the jump
The first Gamer Babe of 2007 2008. And boy, am I proud to have been graced by another true-blooded girl gamer.
She’s 23 year old Keridwen or “Keri” to her friends and guildmates. Keri, who hails from Sydney, Australia is co-founder of Femmes Fatales, a no-nonsense all-female guild in Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC).
Keri is currently taking up her PhD in History.
Let’s take up our history lessons with her, shall we?
And speaking Gamer Babes, I plan to have a voting contest soon to determine who’s the hottest and the best gmtristan.com gamer babe for 2007. Stick around for that. If you’re one of my gamer babes, get ready to campaign for votes.
Fellow blogger, gamer, and friend Issai carved out her spot in the cyberworld via her blog - ladygadfly.com
Although hesitant, I finally convinced her to give out a Gamer Babe interview. Here, Issai tells us how she got into gaming, what games she likes and a little bit about herself, of course. Her blog covers anything that strikes her fancy. Including giving away original PS2 games to buying her own car.
I first met Luna when I was writing about Anino Entertainment’s PC Game, Anito.
That seemed like an eternity ago.
I was working back then for Fast Forward magazine and PC World. Ever since, we’ve become good friends and bump on occasion on conferences, expos and shows. Luna is a very intelligent and and extremely ‘well read’ woman. She’s sweet, charming and witty. Her devotion to her work and to the industry is meticulous. I guess that’s why she’s perfect for her chosen field. But sometimes, as I wrote before, being a girl in a testosterone-laden industry is tough.
After some serious pleading, I finally succeed in getting her to agree to being featured as a GM T Gamer Babe. Luna’s currently into RF Online (which has gone FREE TO PLAY btw)
Many people will probably remember her as the sexy succubus or the “T-back” girl at the Level Up LIVE 2006 cosplay.
But Charlene Datan is also a true-blooded grrl gamer! She’s played through almost all MMORPGs offered here in the Philippines.
Charlene is a 20-year old student taking up ES Electronics Communications Engineering. I took a little bit off my busy schedule to chat with her about, gaming, cosplay and other stuff that she enjoys doing. She’s also on the cover of COSPLAY magazine! Wow!
