Blog Contest: Community Q and A
Hey peeps!
I know it’s been a while since the last blog contest.
Here’s something new… it’s the gmtristan dot com Community Q&A blog contest. The rules are simple. Just comment below and ask a question related to ANY Level Up game (RF Online, Ragnarok, Perfect World, FlyFF or Freestyle). At the end of the contest period, I’m going to pick five (5) winners. Your questions will be answered by game GMs, marketing guys or tech dudes depending on the nature of your concern. The Level Up guys that will answer your Qs will be doing this via video and will be posted to our youtube channel and here too (and yes, your real name and in-game name will be mentioned if you want. Woot!).
I’m going to give the 5 winners P100 Level Up Top-Up card each (I’ll just email the PINs so that you can get to use it instantly).

Mechanics
- This contest is open to all gamers of Level Up
- You must have a MyLevel Up account. If not, Register here for FREE
- The contest will start on May 29, 2008 and end on June 14, 2008
- To join, simply COMMENT BELOW and ask a question pertaining to ANY Level Up game. Note: Intelligent questions only please.
- Your comment must have the following information
- Real Name (or just nickname)
- Location
- Game Playing
- Character Name
- Server
- Guild (if any)
- Your Question
- Â At the end of the contest period I will pick the 5 winners
- Prize: Winners (5) = P100 LU Top Up Card each
- All winning questions will be answered via video and will posted here and at the youtube channel. Winners will be notified by me via email so make sure you put your active e-mail addy.
- Of course, LU employees are disqualified and cannot join (para fair).

Does the question have to be about the features of the game? or can we ask about the game’s history and development?

Your Question: I’ve been playing in Valhalla since it’s trancendance, and I haven’t been loading up on gametime. Will my other characters in the pay-to-play servers not erased/purged out of the database? I used to maintain a 1-hour balance for my accounts, since there’s that rule (I think) about inactive accounts being purged. But now that I mostly play in Valhalla, I’m using all my load to purchase rok points instead of gametime.

-Is there any way to counter CE and Other 3rd party program hacks on RF Online aside from banning people? Why can’t level up ask permission from the CCR team to tamper with the games parameters? I do think that you could CE also using CE.
I think that it would be best if the immediate RF team could do quick fixes when the worst scenario like these come.

- How will RF Online manage to pull through the recent critical issue that has influenced and greatly affected its servers’ player economies? [i.e., the gold hack issue several days ago]

-Why is it that every last violation in ragnarok online is not being sanctioned in the way that was stated in the rules & policies section in the ragnarok site. Isn’t it unjust to give a punishment to a player who did a violation if he/she is punished in a different way than what was stated by Level up? Isn’t it also unjust to the victim if the punishment he/she is expecting to be done to the offender is not given by Level up when they clearly stated that X violation will have an X penalty. Why state any Rules and Policies if it cannot be properly carried out anyway? If it so happens that those rules & policies are outdated isn’t it unjust to the players to not revise it so that the players will know what really are the violations in the game? I would also like to know why is it that Level up usually gives out announcements late. I mean why wait 1 or 2 hours after the supposed to be end of the maintenance before Level up releases a statement saying they will extend the maintenance to X time> Why can’t they just say that they will extend the maintenance to X time before the supposed to be end of the maintenance ? Also why is it that Level up can’t update the user on changes they plan to do before actually implementing them?

- What lessons have you learned with pRO that would help ensure RO2 will not suffer the same fate ( blatant botting, duplicating items, underground trading, etc.): basically dead (although i’m sure its the biggest moneymaker to date) also considering the fact that RO2 will be in its infancy and vulnerable to bugs and hacks?

7. It seems inRO and pRO Valhalla will be merged but haven’t been finalized. My question would be, if this merge was possible, would there be a possibility for another merge with another RO country? If so, would LU consider having an Asian version of iRO? Playing with foreign gamers may sound fun though. ^_^
