20th Philippine Ad Congress
Am currently at Subic Freeport to attend the 20th Philippine Ad Congress. Subic is host to this every-other-year celebration, gathering and recognition of marketing and advertising talents and innovations.
Level Up has a booth at the Ad Congress where we aim to spread the word about advergaming and its huge potential for other companies to reach out to the youth through our mediums (games). I’ll be here together with some Level Up managers and big bosses until Saturday (November 24).
Oh, one more thing, Neil Gaiman is is here as a special guest. He’s scheduled to give a talk tomorrow morning at 9:00am about “Imagination and Creativity in the Contemporary World”. I don’t think he can sign books if you bring them to him, you’ll have to fork out P1,500 to get in line and get a Beowulf manuscript signed by Neil. Do check out his blog since he’s now writing about just getting here and preparing for Ad Congress.
Anyways, I just got back to our “HQ” - we rented a house belonging to good friend and high school classmate Kenneth Peralta since all the hotels here at Subic are fully booked. Highlights of tonight were the opening, the great inspirational talk by taipan John Gokongwei Jr. where he told his own life story and challenged everyone to bring a Philippine brand to world standards. Another highlight was the dinner hosted by Philippine Daily Inquirer where they unveiled a new logo and also raffled off tons of stuff including iTouches and a brand new Ford Ranger pick up! Acck! I wished I won. Sigh. Not to worry, there’s still some cars to be given away during the next couple of days.
I still don’t have nice pics to show you. But tomorrow, I’ll be bringing the camera and show you how the event area looks like and also our booth together with Caren, our cute model dressed as a Fashi from PW!
It’s off to sleep for me…. I’ll seeya all tomorrow.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Aw! We have a mutual friend pala with Ken Peralta. We co-organized/hosted a lot of Major events within Subic Bay Freeport Zone - like concerts, festivals and open-sky parties during his time as SBMA Department Manager of Marketing and then of Tourism. Say hello for me Sir Mon, been months since the last time we saw each other. Post ko sana pic namin while we we’re hosting the SEA-Games `05 opening, di ko na makita.
Btw, Sept pa lang halos reserved na lahat ng housing rentals, hotels / resorts within Subic Bay Freeport and Olongapo City for the AD-Con delegates. Marami talaga nag pa pareserve ng maaga pag may special event(s).
There is an ongoing Mardigras Festival at the Magsaysay Drive (just outside SBMA Main Gate) since Thu, our station is handling the Stage 4 concert and street rave party, broadcasted live. Sana pala kinulit ka namin kahit saglit for an interview together with Sir Carlo, you both have lotsa gamer fans within the Greater Subic Bay Area. Too bad today is the last day of the Mardigras Festival organized by both the City of Olongapo and SBMA for the AD-Con delegates. Tom Sun, we’ll cover some of the culmination events at the AD-Con, hope to see yah there pow. ^_^
You should have texted me, DJBB.
Anyways, Kenneth is my HighSchool classmate at La Salle. I left saturday AM.
